I did experiment with different color variations, I feel like the neutral color fits better overall. I'll revisit it later though if people feel otherwise. As far as the submitting multiple items... the two of them together are still under 800 tris and they behave correctly during animations. I don't see where the problem would be. In my opinion it looks much better with the bowtie included with the hat. Also it allows for the gentlemen whiskers to be worn with the tie and hat.
Great concept, great execution. I did prefer the team-coloured band; it was a nice way of marking where the head ended and the hat began, in a mass of dark grey. You could even get away with making it yellow, instead of team-coloured, since that's also a recurring colour on the Pyro's outfit.
The De-Greaser Concept. Parts include a 1950s automobile muffler, WW2 stove top burner, 1950s fire extinguisher, metal funnel, and 1950s style gas pump.
Look forward to seeing it in more detail. However, with the silhouette, it kind of doesn't give a strong indication of the ignition source (the thing coming out of the bottom I can only assume is the airblast?)
But I do like the muffler and fire extinguisher being used.

There is an old WW2 stove top burner that has been attached inside the muffler's exhaust pipe. There will be a gas line running along the pipe from the handle to it. The black silhouette was starting to get cluttered as it was... so I just left it out.
I agree with everyone the yellow on the hat looks better, but I think you should darken and desaturate it a bit so it's more of an in-between the glove yellow and the tank yellow. It's currently a bit too bright.
Can't wait to see the flamethrower model, the concept looks sweet. Good ideas.
I'm not sold on the Squeegee idea. Not only because it doesn't seem like it'd do enough damage as a melee weapon, but because Squeegee's add water to stuff, which is the opposite of what the Pyro would ever do or want. ...I suggest to explore other ideas. I'd love to see an awesome Flaregun replacement personally.
Thinking of changing the squeegee to some form of an antique lug wrench or tire iron. Either the cross shape or the 'L' bend. Need something to spice it up
The hat came out really nicely, I think it fits the pyro really well.
as for the lug wrench-- maybe you could play up the relationship pyro/engie have lately with the homewrecker. Maybe pyro can aid engie in some way with it?

sorry, just commentin ill keep my idea's in my thread
Sorry here too, I missed that the first part of your post was directed at Progg's flamethrower :O
Making it looks like "hey, I have a cool idea for a flamethrower. A jet engine..." etc.

oh, okay, i just felt very noobish. my modeling skills need work. but ya,
that outline of the flamethrower was cool, you should work on a modle.
Well I had the squeegee but people didn't like it :O
People are dumb.
Go with the Squeegee. You know you want to. All you need to do is replace the rubber blade with a metal one and you've got a perfectly serviceable weapon.

I agree, a regular squeegee would be rather boring and non-lethal.
However a squegee with deadly things attatched to it is makeshift awesome.
I thought the concept Progg did with the Squeegee with glass shards embedded in it was pretty cool. Maybe a lot of people missed that so they thought it would just be a standard squeegee?

You're right, I did miss that. If they were big ol' jagged glass shards that would work pretty well.

He could have a separate version he could give to Valve just in case.
maybe make it a very muted. subtle red and blue?
Also, I guess you're right about the bowtie.
There's no reason Valve should have any real objections
i like the grey version much better. makes him get right into the blue oyster bar
But I do like the muffler and fire extinguisher being used.

So unless he wants to, it's unnecessary.
I lol'ed.. yeah .. This contest is aesthetic, no functions necessary.

No worries, all suggestions are welcome

That's not something he made. It's already in the game. Anyway I agree that it does go well with his hat/bowtie.

Team fortress customized weapon mantra #1
