The mask actually doesn't come down. On the screenshots its open cause i tested how it would look open. I cant do it myself, valve would have to code it in the game so it animates. I was thinking either coming down when minigun is spun up or only coming up when secondary is out.
Yeah. I wasnt even sure i could make it once i found a job but it seems that it was just enough time for me. Also for the theme deep inside i wanted the items to look as if heavy would of taken them to a war or something for a long time how would they look. But its damn hard to put into few words
So i decided that having MANN CO. On the minigun is a bad idea since its so over used, so i decided to design other company. Since my pack looks quite armyish i went for this logo. I studied quite a lot of 60's and 70's logos, commercial and some military and came up with this. Hope it wont look too detailed or modern when i slap in on the textures.

Neat logo! Might I suggest putting periods in WAR (i.e., W.A.R.)?

Also does anyone here know anything about sound editing? Would be nice if someone could mix and match some of valves sounds and maybe some copyright free gunshot sounds to make new sound effects for the minigun and the shotgun?

Currently, the ONLY WEAPON in TF2 that has "MANN CO" on it is the Direct Hit. That's it.
Now considering the plot of TF2 is that two corporations, RED and BLU, both secretly overseen by TF industries, are fighting endlessly essentially to run a weapons industry dominated by MANN CO. (a subsidiary of TF industries) technically shouldn't MANN CO. be making all the weapons anyway?
And frankly, this is the only one of the entries that I think are even likely to win to have MANN CO. on it.
I mean, I could pitch shift some stuff and make composite sounds but I don't have base sound files for the minigun on my HD. I think anyone could do that, though.
He already made a nice new logo, I think he's sticking with it Kark.
That's obviously entirely up to him, but I thought I'd bring that to his attention as that particular "Mann co is overused!" mantra has kind of been repeated over and over and the reality is much different.
Besides, looks better and makes more sense to have it.

As long as you send a PSD it'll be easier to modify/remove it instead of sending multiple textures.

See now this is a good idea, I don't know why more folks don't do this when there's something in doubt.
Im having some issues (from the start) when i look at it from the back its almost always very bright. And im using same vmt as the shotgun, the sascha's vmt makes this even worse, and i have the specmaps set up and everything. Havent looked at it in game much though.
wait, does your minigun have a normal map? I dont remember if the shotgun/default minigun have a normal map either. But if your minigun has a normal map, you'll have to put the specular data into the normal map's alpha channel and enable it in the vmt. Because if you have a normal map, trying to use the diffuse map alpha channel as a phong mask might not work due to the normal map overriding it.
Relatevely fast view model with a crappy texture. Will work more on it tommorow, need to clean up the mesh and make a nice texture. However one thing i noticed is that this doesnt seem to want to spin very fast at all, dont know if its a glitch or it actually spins this fast and you cant notice because normal barrels are round. Still if you spin up for long enough it looks fine.
I have fixed most of the issues with viewmodel, i just need to add some stuff so it looks good with viewmodel_fov 70, cause when you set it up now you see the shield floating cause i deleted some stuff that i shouldnt have.

Turned out quite good in game i think Need to do some viewmodels for this next, really wanna see what it will look like.
I assume it represents a world split in half by war and fighting. I love it! Tear it up, make it look a bit worn and it'll be perfect!
