I freaking love the commented matches. Watching some of those high-level matches with knowledgeable, enthusiastic commentary just really brings the expereince to life.
Finally able to post some bits of the mod me and my buddies have been working on now that the blizzard competition is over. There's full multiplayer support for heads up team play. We'll be going public in the coming weeks once things are tuned up a bit more so look for it on the custom games list in the future!
Finally had a chance to finish the single player campaign and play some multiplayer. Got to hand it to Blizzard once again, amazing game, loved it. Over the top in all the right ways and fun the entire way through. cant wait for the second and third installment.
multiplayer is cool but im just to bad at it, cant macro and micro shit well enough so I will always be in the middle-ish silver league forever. then again like SC1 I will most likely stick to playing Tower Def games as I those.
multiplyer is really fun, but sadly i keep finding people that want to win thru dirty tactics like pylon push , gas steal , attacking probes , i can counter them all , but its sad that i cant play a game that lasts more than 6 minutes. thank god when i play with friends i personally know its way fun !
The higher up you get I find it happens less and personally i dont really give a fuck as if i lose to cheesy tactics im pretty confident i have better fundamentals... and thats all im content working on for now! If youre not going to be playing the game longterm - SC2 definately isnt a game I would ladder on to unwind as its silly deep.

I agree with you on the dirty tactics and I've played with a lot of people who just want to win as soon as possible(some may say that's the name of the game but I don't agree). I personally HATE the reaper tactics because I don't think you need a lot of skills to pull that off. The pylon pushing on the other hand can be countered and if the pusher fails then he/she loses a lot of cash.
Also playing with friends is the best, I'm growing tired of playing with random people all the time.
I don't cheese....98% of the time playing random mp, but I don't mind those tactics at all. I don't think they're dirty and they actually add to the challenge. Bitter if you lose to one, funny feeling if you neutralize it especially the hard workikng probe setting up his pylon/cannon layout. These tactics show your opponents want to beat you and not turtle and they're doing it in a creative way. It usually just happens in the early stages of a game anyway.
Besides those already mentioned, I've also recently discovered the hatch rush, the scv rush, and the siege-tank-sneak-drop-behind-a-shared-4-team- base.
What's annoy me though playing 4v4 is when one of my teammates is a cheese virgin and fails to defend vs the cheese.
Thing is, by and large the people who will be cheesing and not in diamond will be playing for a cheap win... theres nothing honourable or creative about it at all. I agree on the whole not minding it thing though, however theyre the types that'd probably rage quit if its held off. Id rather play to learn and experiment than being a 1 trick pony, your play overall will benefit so little from relying on tactics like that
You look for a cluster of enemy rines near a siege tank, then you call a MULE in the spot of the rine cluster. Supposedly the splash damage will kill some.
Too bad planetary fortresses can't lift off. Would be nice to use them as a mobile weapon :poly121:

I prefer using infested marines as bait, mules help you get 300 minerals a lot faster. I've seen pros use planetary fortresses as aggressive walls in the late game.

I have a lot of respect for infested rines especially if you mass them and use them as AA. One game, one opponent took down our higher upgraded vikes+carriers+rays. I was shocked and checked the replay.
Another thing I learned from that match...don't bother killing them :poly136:
The zerg base looked like menstruation flash flood afterwards.
I see infested marines as a "psy storm" like effect, its a deterrent that can easily keep people from attacking, at least for another minute, or it can instantly reinforce your army. I love infestors, I need to get a new mouse so i can start playing the ladder more.
that tlo video is so annoying , i mean really ? you have fun playing the game for only 5 mins ? iv won plenty of 5 min game using dirty tactics, but i gotta say its no fun at all hehe

Most of those tactics aint dirty but more like comepletly useless against decent opposition. Those were his placement matches after the beta so its one of the best players in the world vs random low ranked people.
I know most people aren't really that into the starcraft 2 custom scene (who is these days?), but the starcraft 2 mod community is something i'm really passionate about as a former SC2 modder and it's really cool to see a great mod get some major airtime (from totalbiscuit no less!)
Fingers crossed this can cross the page 1 barrier. Check it out if you guys want. Smashcraft is similar to LOL which has had a great surge of support here recently but be wary of getting into the game it's very hardcore. Your best bet is to join the forums on battlenet and join arranged teams to help you learn the game at first.
I could blather on about how the popularity system kills complex innovative games but i'll save you guys the whining. Hope some of you enjoy the game.
If you've never seen high quality competitive commentated starcraft matches, do youself a favor and CHECK IT OUT! I'm totally hooked on these and i don't even enjoy playing starcraft 2.
Edit: Oh yeah, SlayersBoxer is playing later, the Micheal Jordan of professional gaming.
Just a few months ago it was about around 6k. This gaming scene is exploding! Last matchup was awesome, never seen such total dominance from force fields!
Im really new to this, just picked up my copys last week... and these games are blowing my mind, how the hell can one manage that much stuff at once, ha, wtf
pro gamers can practice harder than pro athletes because the wear on the body isn't so hard. Even still the mental and manual dexterity required to compete at this level is phenomenal.
starcraft 2 is defiantly the best e-sports to watch!
And super street fighter 4, that's pretty good to watch too.
Want to watch this but can't atm. Housemates downloading like crazy this afternoon so the internet's been slashed. I'm assuming it has anyway but either way I can only manage to get on forums now nevermind streams.

This has been done: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVZFZ_1mi6U[/ame] the game in question starts at about 10:54 but all the games in the video is hilarious. The playing starts at 2:40

Also, terran was nerfed hard in the last patch.
They have 13 year old girls writing this? Or is this some kind of joke?
You don't have to understand it. I read it because I'm interested in it...doesn't really ruin anything for me.
Yup.
If anyone wants to play with me my name is Striff. Character code is 602. Diamond in everything except for 4v4
