I saw this video on YouTube 2 weeks ago and I was surprised. I thought that it is impossible to create such a masterpiece in the UDK, but I was wrong. Looks very, very professional.
Ouch! Why the performance hit, too many unique meshes? Actually, how well does UDK cope with such modularity? Not only your environment, but I see modular UDK environments everywhere that have tons of different pieces. I recon this must save a lot of memory but at a certain point it should start to increase fill rates like crazy, right?
Postprocessing of my scene is eating 50% of performance :P . Then the translucend lightbeams assets ,particles and shaders with some blinn specular and other stuff :] .
very cool man! has some "oddworld" style in it with all those pipes and colored lights. also the moving lights and projectors are just splendid! good ideas for presentation!
Wow! What an amazing environment and you said 170 unique meshes? That awesome. How long did this take you? Im going to have to read through this once I get a chance!
More than a year with of work with bigger (the biggest one lasted a year becouse of a job) and smaller breaks .

Yeah ... Moved to DX11 with this old scene just to learn some new stuff. It was a good learning experience and the scene received a little bit of fresh air. Now i need to finish key assets for second Enviro and wrapping up everything in UDK should be faster.
In upcoming weeks i'll add some fly videos from my level Museum for Gears of War Judgment SP Compaign, Haven MP DLC level and from another one after commercial release.
Looks like a combination of like every post apocalyptic game in the past 5 years. It's good work, I'm surprised people aren't getting sick of this topic though. Cute overlord dictator too.
Wow! Brilliant work! My jaw has been on the floor since the first page! As someone who is struggling with something far smaller than this... I would like to ask you how long did this take you to do? I mean just the first video... Are all of these modeled by you? Are you using models that you have previously made? Do you have any tips for environment creation?

How's the performance on this, have you done some sort of benchmark on this to check on FPS, draw calls and whatnot?
