Rada, I'm talking about well known warrior cultures. If you're referring to minutiae like the difference between Corinthian helmets and Illyrian helmets, I don't thing there's any need to make a hat for every obscure bit of war equipment.
Anyway, Jaguar helm textured. The stripes on the feathers and the lips are paintable.

Polynesian/hawaiian
scandenavian
India
Babylon/ Summeria
Egyptian (to be fair the hats made already have been of Egyptian nobility not warrior class)
Zulu
Incan (inca are south american not mesoamerican)
Polish
Chinese
Inuit
to name a few
also there as you go through the middle ages helmets change, frog lip sallet's, armet, barbute, bascinete, burgonet, etc. some bieng a whole redisign since they cam ein different era's of warfare.
think of the new memes.. 0.0 Spark, that watch feels pretty modern to me? maybe you could strip it down to be a little simpler and add some tf2 feel to it? currently I only think the band fits the tf2 universe

Hmmm I'm not sure. to me it looks early 70s and TF2 is set in the 60s so its not too bad but then again it is a bit out there. Anyway a good camera to try to use as a base for it might be this i think its from the right era.

I respectfully disagree. I think the holowatch fits the design good enough. It has good bulk and chunkiness. I would smooth out the knobs a bit but just for my preference.
Looks pretty good, but I think you should darken up the boots quite a bit so it fits more with the original art style. (dark feet to draw the focus to the body).
(never mind the sports socks and flip flops, lol)

The reference i used was made in 1968, so it fits the time perfectly.

Regular scout has if anything lighter feet, it's one of the things that clearly shows you that it's a scout and not a soldier for example
Umm, maybe you meant to quote me? Look at the original scout, just like everyone else. Black boots.
It's not his feet that draw your attention (unless he's double jumping you of course), it's his tiny frame and speed compared to all the other classes.
Uh, he has track shoes on, and they are miniscule compared to all the other classes boots. Plus its the white socks that draw your attention to the body.
I had some free time this afternoon around an hour and I figured i would try and color the hat .I may change some things but right now it looks decent .I think .Curious for some feedback

The style is earlier than that, 40's and 50's.
"The crew used a variety of different references to help understand illustrate visual goals. In particular, the three commercial illustrators J. C. Leyendecker, Dean Cornwell and Norman Rockwell were primary sources of inspiration. These artists were known for illustrating characters using strong, distinctive silhouettes with an emphasis on clothing folds."
that hat above seems far too high poly and the twig texture is far too realistic for tf2 the hat its self is modelled nicely but I don't see it fitting any of the classes

don't worry about submitting your hats right now, just make them, get them in game and keep modelling then come back to them after you've gotten experience and can do them justice as well as keep them as good low poly game assets
Spark, I saw the screen with it in his mouth at facepunch, it looked hilarious I'm not a member there though so didn't comment
Oh hello there Plokman.
My suggestion is to grab Blender and google some tutorials for it.
Done and done. Hard to wrap my head around. I can do basic sculpts with real clay but whoa! Thanks for the advice. This forum is so nice compared to others I've been to.

Missed a few cues here and there but somewhat textured and went with a lighter color. Thoughts about it?

new knife and draw animation for the spytech pack.
"Try to keep hats under 800 polygons"
The hat doesn't need that many polys to look right, it's just over indulgent currently
True. Very true.
This is the hat I've made so far.
Please help me improve
Look at collar and make similar.
I wanted to make venetian blonde hair cause it's like the most popular color in Holland
This is excellent, well done
Thanks, but since I'm new to modeling, I don't know what you mean by "segments".
Thank you for you input.
Lol, I'm actually modeling it into like an emperor's style hat, like this one:
