I understand that you want to keep your topic on the first page Neil, but editing out a picture on page 12 so that you can post it again on this one.....maybe too much?
having said that both the car and the claptrap are very well done....That lad has talent
BA & MA Alumni "Sol, Mat, James, and many others" made a company called Rewind FX in St Albans, Autodesk asked them to make a little promotional video for them.
More great stuff, still the best Uni work I've seen.
Still waiting for you to offer an online MA
Hello TeeJay
We are getting close, you can now do an online MA in Graphic Design and Illustration so we are getting there. In the near future I am sure there will be Games Art and Design so watch this space.
An animated short about one starving man's night of music, dancing and magical beans.
It was created at The University of Hertfordshire for our final year project. It took roughly 7 months to complete and a lot of sleepless nights, hope you enjoy!

in terms of industry recognition, what's the difference between a bachelors and a masters? and also, how much does industry experience translate to the course in terms of credits, so you only have to do the final year?
Final year student, Ben Cottage, Shotgun WIP, first showreel hand in of the year is on Wednesday can not wait to see what they come up with, three more to go before Christmas!
Good to see BA Games Art Alumni Sean Ray going from strength to strength.
Update from above, Smoothing out those edges a bit more as well the issues on the wheels and ironing those hard edges, especially on the turret/support. Hes got a week tomorrow to get it all finished!
UV and baking to come! the count down has begun!
Its a render from 3DSmax, anyone got an shader tips I can impress him with?
I have a dream of studying at your school but I also know I still have a lot to learn so I would like to directly apply for a foundation degree.
Could you please advise which foundation course is recommended for 3D Games Art?
You are best having a look around and just make sure they teach lots of art skills, life drawing, colour theory, perspective drawing, Clay sculpture, large charcoal drawings, painting (all kinds), Photograpy, 3D would be cool but you might find you will have to teach your self the basics but we teach from a Zero level up to as close to pro as we can push you in 3 years.
I will see if i can find an up to date list at work.
If I remember well it was mentioned here in this topic that what you need mostly to get into 3D Games Art is a thorough understanding of 2D fundamentals (what you also just listed above). I live in Hungary but I was wondering if any of the university's foundation programmes are actually teaching these fundamentals in which case I would gladly move to the UK.
As for the 3D part I do not worry about it all that much as I did about a year of self-taught modeling in Blender + created some game assets for the Unity engine - which I stopped doing when I found out I needed to learn 2D to get into Herts's 3D Games Art BA:)
It is needless to say your students' work is amazing and thanks again for taking the time to help me out!
