Loving the colours in the second pic JackWhat... a little to vague for me overall, but you are getting some interesting shapes in there which I'm sure will be worked up into something awesome.
nice looking floor
jackwhat, love the colors and mood on that
mikef, sadly no. I usually switch over to blender when doing lowspec textures, but I was still tweaking the mesh and uvs this time round
still need to work on a few areas and get some more contrast. I've been working off the concept ratherthan the ingame model (more attractive, IMO)
@Holi: where did u got the idea from? it somehow looks familiar
also: maybe u should make the house more crooked? so it ll actually fits the boot.
like this maybe:
Espe: Thanks!
For the inspiration, I am not sure, I had Brian Froud in my mind
Right now it is for me more like a challenge to finish it as quick a possible. So I won't change the general shape of the tower.
Thanks for the feedback!
achillesian: I think you really need to tone that spec down as well as the bump on the text (it wouldn't generally be sticking out that far). You also need to throw in some variation in the texture, right now it is pretty much all just one flat color with some slick scratching, not enough to give it the illusion of a barrel.
made a model to test an old game engine called Dark Sun.
It's an old engine which unfortunately doesn't use normal maps - it uses greyscale bump maps. But it actually looks okay in the engine regardless. Sadly this is like the first piece of personal art I've actually completed since 2006. lol

Thanks for the crits, this was just testing a couple workflows, creating normals from pictures, photoshopping reference photos, about 15 minutes of work.
I think i'm understanding normal baking in maya, and normal editing in ps, the diffuse is just throw away, didnt even plug in my wacom.
thanks, Yea there is, hopefully textures will be finished end of the week, hes a space marshal that Im currently working on to learn more about Uncharteds character pipeline.
heres normal and ambient occlusion pass on the low poly, its pretty old now and I fixed alot of things since.

Hey i just love how youve put a whole loop into her butt and it looks awesome
Textures look sweet as heck as usual
I think you need to pull that edge in the front of her crotch out. It's like she has no pubic bone, just a hole under her diaphram.

Still gotta work on strengthening the portal look and probably closing the roof off a bit to push the composition a bit better?!
Some fun with decim&mr render
