heres my comicon character, did some work to the jacket last night, things are still fairly loose i'll be going in and tightening up some of the folds and adding smaller wrinkles and such. also he's still missing his zippers and i have to break up the symmetry on the front. ive added a hud like screen to his helmet piece to display his ammo count and such...
I agree with Swizzle, nipples!:) Anyway, looks great! The earlobe/transition from neck and jawline into ear looks a little weird to me, could just be the angle/zoom. Could you post a close up?
The rust is on all of the scratch points. It should be below the plates, not on their edge, and/or up higher on the edge past the leading edge, since the leading edge getting scratched is going to keep the rust off.
Rust happens where moisture accumulates.
Also, rust is not a thick layer. In the cases where it does get that bumpy, it's gone inwards, into the metal. Not as some seperate growth on top.
coming along nice almighty_gir. ears are a bit weird where they meet the head
mucking around with this. no real clear direction.
Damn, Ruz! Your folds are getting slick and looking really natural! Probably a little bit too much red on the hands though. Really digging your stuff lately.
Ruz: looking awesome, as a nitpick you might wanna tweak the hair so you dont get that V shape in the texture right down the middle, that really is a small deal tho, the textures are looking nice, and great work on the pants!

This is true to a point. Keep in mind though that areas that are scratched are also very small recesses, and have had whatever protective coating of theirs removed inviting rust. There tends to be less rust because there's less area for moisture to pool. and because they're exposed they'll only be prone to corrosive as opposed to expanding/inflating rust (the type Sean_EG is using exclusively, which only works in deep recesses).
Here is yet another update. I took Riki from Eat3D's advice and put unique drip details on each individual panel instead of one across the whole thing. I also changed up the rust a bit, but its still a work in progress.
I think there should be more variations in the rust drips, like have large middle and small frequencies. It's looking too uniform, but still an awesome work.
Sean, I hope you don't mind but I did a little paintover of your vent. What I think it's lacking is overall variety in color and texture as well. I also think that you can make your spec pop a bit more as well.
I really love the teeth Cap, but the rest of the face looks kinda odd proportionally. I'm assuming most of that is because it's a WIP, but the nose is very weird to me. Almost...Voldemort-ish/snake like.
fabio thats awesome, would be cool to see a bigger pic.
heres what Ive just started, young cable, using a new workflow 3dcoat voxel->autoretopo = basemesh then I mudbox it then 3dcoat->autoretopo and retopo room to finish. Seems to work really fast so far. Made this head from scratch including basemesh in about 2 hours

Thanks Medestruit, Hes supposed to have burn skin, so maybe when i add the detail it makes more sense. i should add big holes on the skin were you can see the flesh.
comin' together real nicely Rens!
Neox that's lookin' great man, I dig the jacket. I think the sternomastoid, clavicle and sternum have a bit too intense of an interplay though
I did a little boss battlin' too but I'm a poopsack so I didn't really finish! it's supposed to be a sorta zombied octopus

now THAT's some sweet stylization of forms.

Looking solid, never the less..
More critters and weapons to do.

Working on a Russian Jet.. gonna try painting the bolts on after the bake. Placing bolts is such a pain in the ass.
