Hello, I'm new here, hoping to regularly show you my work, and maybe get some criticism and improve
Today I did 5 hours and 20 mins most of that went toward the still life WIP.
Welcome to Polycount I think you can benefit from live figure drawing and gesture drawing if you aren't already. www.posemaniacs.com is a good site for quick gestures. You can do this stuff with real people too. Don't need any special pose or something. Loomis' books are also great, keep with them.
Dado Almeida
hey man, I've went back and rewrote stuff there.
Looking at it in retrospect I think it looked unprofessional, thanks a lot for pointing that out!
Don't worry about saying what's on your mind, it's appreciated, I don't take advice badly (esp. not good advice ) 5 hours and 30 minutes for today.
Most of it spent on client work which I can't show.
Gah! I though I've updated the SB yesterday... here's yesterday's update anyways
7 hours and 30 minutes , again spending most of it on client work which I hope I could soon show you
And I really need to get back to updating much more than this This last week something kept coming up every single day, I guess Ill have to start to adapt to these things, because things will keep coming up. I have to keep my composure, and study harder.
Also Ill be switching from working with HSB sliders to RGB sliders
I'm exhausted from tonight (was lots of fun! ), but I've told myself that I'll update daily, and since 2009 just ended, I'll add a few words:
A big thank you goes out to all the people that made this year so great: All the new people I've met, those who took the time to crit or give a tip, all those who made good music for us to enjoy. And all the people that give me support online and irl - YOU'RE ALL AWESOME, each and every one of you, THANK YOU. I can't wait for us to plunge into 2010 and make it even better.
Vatsel I think you are trying to paint way to much into one scene the progress of some of the work is almost void of any real progress... personally I would focus on maybe the screwdriver and note in one of your pieces... you have a nice guy almost complete in the right hand corner of another piece. It is just some advice and take it with a grain of salt but a art director would like to see more complete works even if it is smaller in visual appeal.
electric_geisha Indeed, you are right about the over-focusing. It's something that I've had trouble with a bit of time ago and it is a nasty habit as it tends to stick.
You are 100% correct about the professional side, and although I'm not bound by that in the studies I do need to find a balance there (admittedly overdone on the Repin).
roosterMAP haha thanks bro
We've been doing regular thunderdomes on IRC and you're all welcome to join us.
A thunderdome is When we get a set time (60 minutes for example) to do a set topic, and produce the best image possible. It's not competitive though - it's more about pushing your limits, getting better at speedpainting and having fun!
Bottom pic (w/ skull) is a form we were given at school with the question "where do you stand in life? And where do you want to go?", the teacher's expression should be priceless

School and other stuff has been hectic for a few days. I'll get some breathing space soon enough though.
