Got to agree with Vrav this thread is a great example of where hard work can take you.
Those drawings start to look better and better, like those shaded ones especially.
hey,
i like the dude with crows, but i think that the 1st speedy is way more intersting than the refined versions..
why?
in the initial sketch, the eyes looks closed, it make sens with the crows like "how long is he there? So long that there is crows on him!" this is a strong key for the story of the picture.
Maybe the crows are some kind of pets, but there is no signs to understand it like that (at least, i dont read chinese .
On the technical side, i like the 1st speed as well, i think the light is more naturally placed on him (on the arm and the torso for exemple).
Finally, i think that you see how good this picture is, and you maybe will refine it too much, the initial speed is ok to me (the knees and the mountains needs a bit of work), But i dont know what are your goals with this painting, this is just my two cents
hey vatsel, thanks for publish all this work...give me alot of motivation for my next studys in painting.
But please can you mark your picture still with the time you're work on it ?
Motorov I appreciate the crits. I wasn't aiming at complete realism though, (big red stars dont shine on the battlefield) the piece is symbolic. Admitedly the gun is quite small. -What I don't appreciate is the attitude. bounchfx cheers mate.
Drawn beautifully, but where did you see fluffy multicolored army shoulder, what army is that ?
P.S. do not pay attention, I'm just kidding :]
BTW If it was written by a Russian artist in him would be offended people who was there.
Wow, more nice stuff! I like the "from memory" exercise, really shows a great sense of/ strengthening of observation... think im going to go give it a try.

All the best and keep rockin! Updates will be back soon enough.
you still need to work a little on your line in your pencil drawings, they need more confidence! but your paintings are sweet, keep it up!!
looks nice but
1) The real PPSHa gun are large http://img.liveinternet.ru/images/attach/1/10424/10424058_ppsh41.jpg
2) Before the attack, were taken off all the orders, medals, documents and wore military variants.
3) Star headdress was less (and not for that kind of hat)
4) In the Soviet army this kind of hat worn in winter colonels, generals and marshals. (how you think they fought at the forefront?
