Meh. Holidays creeping up. Starting to lose interest. Got other plans.
I guess the best option would be to stop waiting, and just make on my own time what I was hoping to make, if the guidelines would allow it. Last year's challenge was just advertising for the Infernal Engine anyway.
You ladies need to change into your patience panties. Its just a free contest for teh funz.
No matter when it starts, we'll all have the same amount of time.
Just thought id post a list of links to notes and tutorials from across the web that I have collected over the last few months. You have probably seen them before but they are here just in case someone hasn't. Some are tutorials, some are hints and tips, others are just there for inspiration. I hope the authors don't mind me linking to their work.
Yeah..... I actually got approved to do an independent study to compete in this contest at my college. Classes started 3 weeks ago, 2 days before Unearthly was originally supposed to start. I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake I know you guys are working hard to get it going so I'll just be refreshing the page like a madman today
I got laid off so I could compete in this challenge. Well that I what I like to think anyway. I honestly think between you and me we could use up all of their bandwidth.

Actually, no. Wish you were right, but you are not. This is not for lulz.

F it, at this point i think they should just have a giant countdown clock that covers the whole site, and have it count up and not down
"No countdown clock this time. Thing are coming together now and you will know when it's up for sure. I'll put in a big button just for you"

Edit: Rock on snefer
Polycount's gonna crush this comp, no question. It's like pitting a steamroller made out of dynamite against a wet three-legged squirrel.
Hell yeah

best part: "they make take our lives, but they may never take our independence day!"

HOW CAN WE COMPETE?

That's excellent, thanks. Out of all things related to production, texturing is what I hate most and is what I fail at.
EDIT: awwww no Valve among the sponsors. I was hoping for a t-shirt.
