I love your style so much Renaud! Cant wait to see him finished off...
I cleaned up my war general a bit for my own sake, think ill call it a day at this - although i could push it further and add more ickle details I dont really think it'll add too much and im happy with the colours and theme.
I decided to try something a little different with my presentation of these characters. I normally import my characters into the UE3 editor for screenshot purposes but since I don't have it at home I ended up rendering them with basic materials in MAX and adding a bit of post in Photoshop.
fat -- awesome stuff dude! would be interesting to see if you could get the same effect in UE3
morte -- pretty sick stuff!
eagle -- reminds me of this http://www.aumania.it/fa/easley/029.jpg Jeff Easley FTW!
IMO though, it looks more like hes in the position to be holding a sword as opposed to swinging a giant spike ball. Seems to me like his arms should be stretched out a little more and the chain should be straightened a little bit to get that ball looking like its really heavy.
with different shadows, this could almost fool anyone into thinking it's real.
thanks hawken, yeah its pretty much straight out photo textures from google which always helps for realism and didnt have much time for lighting :P it was just a speed model for fun and learning havent done any game quality models in a while so Im really looking forward to DW IV
FAT_CAP: Looks ace. If you could share some info on your lights setup
I'm currently modeling a gladiator inspired from a concept made by Jeffrey M.de Guzman.
If you can spot areas which are too far from the concept, or crits about my wireframe and general workflow don't hesitate. I need feedback now because it's only the pre-mod before zbrushing'.
I'm taking my time before sculpting because I don't want to go back in the middle of the process.
SupRore, i'm referencing 2 books; Anatomy for the Artist, and Anatomy lessons from the Great Masters.... (ok) and some Street Fighter 4 videos............. :P
Not had much time for personal work lately, but managed an hour or two of doodling in PS. I found some cool kanji calligraphy online and worked them into some Japanese-inspired characters designs:

A rather pink squig

Here's a first pass on the concept :
Update on Donovan's body, redid it all from scratch since the last update, trying to work more on muscles treatment
And Kio! God Damn it! Quit making me want to play your stupid game you jerk!
The only thing I might suggest is making those tattoo designs a bit less transparent. That's just my personal taste though, nice work!

just a closeup shot. now to patiently wait for domwar to begin.
Kingundeath, decent start, but it's hard to tell what's going on or what it's all about. Tell us a little more.
a head sculpt from me:
regards!
Zombies...
That newest sculpt of yours is great Renaud - how did you go about getting the SSS effect - is that a material or Photoshop post effect?

I'm trying to get a better understanding of anatomy out of it.

Cheers, Nick.
Also, question for you... do u make your backgrounds, or did u grab like a photo of parchment?
It's HAMMERTIME!
an art test i did, its Wii specs sent it in already hopefully i hear back i see a couple areas where i could of fixed but too late now
But was prodded by a friend to actually 'FINISH' it.
So this is my first foray into Hires portrait art. First foray with the Mental Ray renderer, and SSS shaders.

You got style!
Spent some time texturing this today - it's more or less done for now. I'm busy taking apart Epic's materials at the moment.
