sawed off shotgun i picked up from b4 and finished it. now im workin on a shotshell belt to go along with it. and also a hand for the reload animation.
I've never made any modular assets before, so I thought I'd give this tutorial a shot and see how I do. I probably should've made the blocks more even so they look more realistic and tile better, but I guess I know that for next time now. And the textures are... meh. Whatever; it was a learning experience.
okkun, thats some nice smoke you got there,
the fire doesnt look as full and thick at the moment though.
maybe something like this, less 2d and more of an object. really digging the embers.
yah that's nice. You might want to rethink where you place your mesh/uv seams though
shrew, thanks for posting that. it's a great picture. I'm going for something a little smaller though. I'll see if I can make it a little more solid by changing some of the shaders to not be additive.
yea lotekk thats really cool! i wanna see them animated! :P and i know its a late reply to stuff some people said! but thank you all.. someone also asked if i might do a video or soemthing! and as much as i would want to i really am not good enough to start showing people how to do stuff or anything ;(
oh and spitty that murray sculpt is so damn nice! great work..
Swizzle that's great. Your interpretation definitely fits the voice.
Started a character in the evening yesterday and continued working on it until late this morning. Eyes were done pretty sloppy. Sculpted, textured, and rendered in Mudbox.
adamlewis- I honestly love and enjoy everyone of your pieces... The way pulling the detail out, the proportions form- everything is just great! you dont have a portfolio, or any other pace when you keep those?
Cheers!

Great stuff. I've noticed with a lot of your sculpts that you give your more realistic characters fairly small eyes. Any specific reason, or just stylistic choice?
MikeF:
Looking good so far, though the plants look a little out of place because there isn't anything else like them in the scene yet. I take it you're going to be making more similar plants and such to place in it?
I decided to go back and refine some details sans textures. I think I like it a little better, even if it doesn't exactly fit the TF2 look:
Getting ready to raise this scene and thread back from the dead, as soon as i get some more "new" stuff put in here.
Will be testing out the new vertex offsetting that UDK put in, along with their new Wind Speed and Direction node... should really breath life into the scene like in "The Last Guardian" trailer.
Catalog is done, now on to something fun. This was a long time coming, been picking at it on and off for 8 months. Stole the concept from 38 Studios, did a paint-over to try and work out some good colors:

Your miner looks like a tonberry. I couldn't see the dwarf in the tiles till I saw the lumberjack, though.

(my eyes hurtz after staring at it too long)
"Wot ya thinkin'?"
"Pub?"
"Morning."
Stunning. I agree, a light mist in there would be fantastic. But also watch those mirror seams, they are playing hell with your lighting setup.
Swizzle : looks just like her, really good job
working on this one for a school project
MoP: The semester's over and I actually have time to do more than work and go to classes. Lotsa pent-up energy.
Team Fortress lady-- not bad. I thought the comic's style didn't mesh with the game, but your model is pretty faithful.
haha holy shit, it just occured to me how great Hot Fuzz would be presented in a Lucas Arts style adventure game. : ) these are great.

HOT FUZZ!
Where's Danny Butterman/Nick Frost?
still in the process of refining.
and thanks, I'll check the arm size. The hands might be a little bit on the small side as well.
Trying to become less lazy when it comes to sub-d.
Next time I'll use floaters for text..
I managed to tie for third...
