Fletcher duuuuddee.... your las couple of drawings have been crazy awesome, I can literally see the growth in your skill man, that last piece is great. If you add some colour to it I would love to (maybe) give it a shot in 3d :P
I made a simple raytracer in Unity. Its scripted software rendering so its very slow, but it updates a few rows of pixels per frame so you can move stuff around while its rendering. Currently it only renders AO over the normal scene and its pretty much useless unless I wanted to write an entire software renderer for unity :P
He's not 100% like all of these so far. I still need to do a bit of work on his hands and feet but I haven't updated this for a bit so I thought I'd show something. Texture area is one 256x512 and one 128x256. I'll probably add some character map to it to make it a solid 512... like the owls or something (don't know why I'd do them but a friend said it would be funny. dunno.)
the low poly might have enough detail, but you should make a high poly and use a reference if you didnt to get a normal map, or if not allowed, get a really good diffuse.
Yeah I really wanted to do a normal map but I had a deadline and I really couldn't fit it in, I'd also like to add that this is my first model. Gotta start somewhere. This was my first project of the year which was to model a anatomically correct bust of the head, choosing any character from Romeo & Juliet. Our next project is based on steampunk to build up our portfolios for Universities which I'm really looking forward too. I've just played Borderlands and I want to implement the art style they used into the project and hopefully get some nice cell shaded models.
Started to model this concept here ignusdei's railpistol and heavily experimented with floaters.
Found a nifty little trick to align floaters to organic surfaces in blender, too :O

I'm screwing around with a Diablo 3-inspired tree and stuff. I'm planning on doing a little vignette with grass and a bit of fence and other stuff. Maybe a signpost as well.
