that looks really good acid, i esspecially like the one with the cargo containers. My only suggestion would be to have a different color scheme on the containers because rite now it looks like a part of the ship instead of something that would be unloaded and passed around from ship to ship
prolow: Really digging the style. Very Team Fortress-esque. Could do with a touch more colour variation throughout the face (like you have on the eyes). Great work.
okno: HAHA, awesome!
Jackwhat: Gots her number? Do want! Looking slick as always, mate!
In an attempt to keep myself active I have planned out a little side project for those times in-between comps and mini challenges. Basically I have decided to re-create all of the old school
movie monster ie:
-Dracula.
-The Wolf man.
-The Mummy.
-Frankensteins monster.
-Dr jekyll and mr hyde.
-The hunchback of notre dame.
-The creature from the black lagoon.
and any others I can think of.
Since I am a huge vampire fan I am starting off with the daddy of
them all Dracula. I am trying to get as close to the original look and feel of these characters and films as possible whilst still giving myself some creative elbow room.
In order to try and keep it game related I have imposed a limit for myself of 2000 tri's per
character and a 512x512 texture sheet.
I am hoping this thread will give me a place to post up my progress and receive some helpful feedback.
Here is where I am with Drac so far.
Comments, crtis, and feedback are always more than welcome.
Hey Duncan, I'd recommend making a new thread if you're looking for feedback. The post you made here could serve as an advertisement for it. I like the model, texture could use some work, though maybe it's just the style - simple and classic... seems a bit highpoly for such a simple texturing style, but what do I know.

I'm so much in love with Laro his style that I painted something in "kind of" the same style. I've always had a cartoony style though, you'll never see me paint something realistic
So have some fan art
awesome prolow, the textures are really on the spot, especially on the face/hair. the whole body is perfect except for the flat/cube feet and the aforementioned cankles
Edit: might as well contribute, sub-d modelling is so slow!!
actually Snipergen its just that I took off the normal map and subdivided it as mental ray doesn't seem to render tangent space normal maps properly. the spec comes out borked
re the bumps, I just quickly slapped on the spec as a bump for a quick test:0

Ever consider putting your own spin on the model, Hal?
Doubled the nose, so it could fit some more cargo and test out my sexy clamps.
Now all it needs are some LAZOARS...

Amazing, post the entire body please !
I think I'm starting to get hang of this handpainting bussiness so update should come soon.
EDIT: Original texture size is 1024x1024. Dunno why I posted a smaller one. :P

PS: Frankenstein! The invisible man
doing some baking today.
So have some fan art
Could you see this work in 3D btw?
dunno if you ever saw the show Skyland (the plot and dialogue was all pretty bad, but the art direction was a cool execution of this general style.)
i just looked through a few pictures couldn't really find any good ones.
i found this video though, some good shots to see what i'm talking about, you guys might like some references etc (or at least enjoy it =P)

I decided to try painting a face:
Not sure what to think of it, i know i can improve on it but im not sure how.
Was fun though
issue-
kankels
funky forearms
skin tone variation
Edit: might as well contribute, sub-d modelling is so slow!!
I love the creases on the back of the knees, works well, the front is smoother though, i'ts kinda weird.
wonderful as always
Nice! can you show the wires?
cheers Hawken - did a mental ray version and am working on my hair techniques
JFletcher thanks! FAT_CAP that's one of the coolest characters ever, saved
