Yeah Cory, did it on my Cintiq. You know I didn't notice the clock tower influence until you mentioned it, now it's all I see :P Being here is like a freaky dream ..not really.
Bored in Class. Doubted about posting this, I initially didn't like it at all. But now I look back at it, it seems to have something. Judge for yourself.
My girlfriend got a book on weird facts that said elephants are the only animals (other than humans) to be taught to use swords, so here's the result :P
you mean this page? - there are all from reference(photographs), some of them may rest somwhere in construction stage or experiments for the rendering...
xysdf, amazing stuff!
Josh, those are fun little sketches. The head half way down the first page on the far right and the little guy with 3 teeth on the second page are my favourite.
lol, not quite, i just didn't have an eraser handy when i was shadowing the crotch
i was just blocking in the big shadows, and the way the statue was lit, the crotch had some of the darkest shadows... both times i slapped my forehead when i remembered i didn't have an eraser handy
i felt like sketching something for a change, and this is what i whipped up. i like his pose, but not so much how i rendered him (lots of smudging because i had to erase some stuff)
badass stuff in here! xysdf, what kind of sketchbook is that with the awesome yellow pages? Been trying to find something other than white to draw on, but cant find nuffin i'm assuming that is one of those fancy mole-skin type sketchbook?
its the moleskine "PLAIN NOTEBOOK" (240 pages). the papers are a bit like fax-paper, very thin (maybe a bit too thin) and ultra smooth surface... it has yellowish pages, if you want to tweak that look you need to start smoking
i initially wanted to buy the moleskine "SKETCHBOOK" (100 pages)but i havent found on at my lokal store, will be the next buy (i guess it also have yellowish pages?)
Hey Rens I love how she is kindof stretched diagonally, I don't know if this is intentional but it gives a lot of life to the pose, great stuff!
Just got my R4 kit for the Nintendo DS. So obviously the first thing I did was installing Colors on it. Yay! So here goes, selfportrait on a 3inch screen:
pior, xysdf, matt, josh... everyone, really.. awesome. More, all of you! Draw more!
got a big ass whiteboard that covers a wall in my apt, been having white russian-fueled drawing sessions on it with friends. I'll try and snap a pic every time we fill it up before it gets erased, seems to be happening more and more lately. Anyone with some free wall space and an itch to draw in an awesome medium, I highly recommend the whiteboard-wall setup. The thing is probably 6 or 7 feet by 4.5 feet. Awesome. (if you live in seattle and want to get a piece of this, just shoot me a message)
anywho, here's a couple pics. First two are my buddy Cody, whom I'm hoping to get up on polycount soon, last one is me and Ben goin nuts on some characters...
Thanks Keen... I got the idea when I was workin as a game tester and the office I was in had whiteboards on the end of every row of desks, and nobody ever used them. So when we were waiting for something I'd wander around and draw on them. It's a great medium... super forgiving, easy to work with negative space (fingers, cloth, anything can be used to erase), forces you to use your whole arm... and you never get too attached to your art to avoid trying new (and potentially bad) ideas, since it's getting erased tomorrow anyway. Highly recommended.
poop from the sketchbook... I need to do more female studies, especially heads. The closest I can apparently get to drawing a female face is a feminine dude. Or a kid. Meh.
hi all, im relatively new here, ive been an avid forum browser for a while but only just made the jump to start posting and try and improve my work with helpfull crits from those in the know (i blame caseyjones its all his fault!)

@xysdf: those portraits [or watever it is they're called], are they done off the top of your head?
