Hey, anybody in here on instagram? Would love to follow you! Add me ( http://www.instagram.com/kwakkie ) to see shots like these I took on a trip to norway:
Not scenery but took this with my phone while I was picking blackberries with my dad today, was really surprised at the quality of the picture from my phone, will try it out on other bits for reference on the go.
Lovely shots, Kwakkie! I spent a month and a half traveling across Norway myself, it is by far the most beautiful place I've ever been. My heart longs to go back.
I wasn't in Norway, but I was pretty close. I did a trip to Stockholm Sweden this past August. It was a really great experience. Stockholm is a really nice city.
These were all shot with my d90. I also did some shooting with my Grandpa's old Yashica FRII - my first time ever shooting with an old srl camera. Unfortunately I don't have a scanner to share the photos you guys, but I love how they came out - some really great colors and depth of field. Film has so much more character than digital!
Not sure what to say about the car. I was just walking down the road and there was a line of old cars coming.. antiques, classics, rust buckets and that one, however you might choose to describe it. Naturally I just started snapping pics. I love the lens flare in that picture lol.
Also, I'm still pretty noob at photography. Any reason why I'm getting so much noise in my skies? I can't blame the imgur compression for that, they were pretty noisy right from the camera.
What are you ISO levels at? Higher ISO levels will definitely increase the amount of noise in your images. The D90 is especially notorious for this. Anything between 100-400 should be noise-free. Above 600-1000 and above and you might start having serious issues.
Are you shooting in Manual, or some kind of Auto (P, S, A) mode? I really hate letting my camera make decisions for me.
I think for the most part I was just using auto.. I know, I was being lazy. I was doing so much shooting at the time I couldn't be bothered to adjust the settings for every shot. Might have even had it set on auto iso. The night shots however were in manual.
I'll keep that ISO number in mind though next time I'm out. Thanks for the info Prophecies
All of these awesome photos remind me of how much I hate living in the blandest city in the US, lol. Anyway, I took this one on a trip to Big Bend a while ago, with a 720nm infrared filter, it was one of my favorites despite the camera not being the best ever.
Awesome shots Schultzie. I love the colors in the second photo.
Here are a couple I shots I took with Yashica FR II using black and white film. First time shooting black and white. Really like how some of these turned out.
I found it a little tricky shooting black and white... I'm so used to seeing contrast in colors rather than contrast in value.
I didn't edit these in anyway, just scanned them in a 600dpi and reduced their size.
Some VERY nice shots in here recently. Here are a couple of stills from a low light video test on my hacked Lumix GH2. I know it's not strictly photos, but I'm very happy with the capabilities of this little micro 4/3 camera. I have an adapter coming which will let me use my old prime lenses with it. There's a link to the short video clip at the bottom. Watch in 1080 if you can.

Thanks man, that a big compliment for me since I really loved your rolleiflex photgraphs! Anywhere I can see more or follow you?
Same goes for earthquake, love those atmospheric shots!!!
Thanks! I have my photography site (http://paulpepera.com/photography.html) and my flickr stream (http://www.flickr.com/photos/paulpepera/). Both are pitifully out of date as I have not done serious photography in a while.
If you're referring to the holy blue blob of ice in the foreground pic, yes, that was taken in Iceland!
They are some shiny berries!
Been out and about with my E-PL1 trying to learn manual mode and how to take night shots.
If you ever get the chance... VISIT NORWAY!

Paul Pepera: Bookmarked your Flickr, those shots in the fog are really nice.
Still learning, another night image.
And a poorly compressed panorama of the water front in Stockholm.

2013 was a great photographic year for me, finally starting to learn something. Here are some of my favourites from the photos I've taken so far:
