I looked like a total nutcase taking these pictures.. I took them with my ageing G10 and without a tripod , propping up the camera with a fag packet.. which obviously means Im bent over exposing my arse to people praying.. kinda good the way the came out though..
Hahah.. yeah I thought that after I took the picture..
Theres quite a bit of history attached to this bell..
The british tried to steal it (just like everything else) back in the colonial days
so they could melt it down and make canons out of the metal
and it fell in a river and they couldnt get it out.. haha
locals used bamboo to get it out and brought it back here
There was a bigger 300Ton bell that was also stolen and fell into a river this time the work of portuguese and that still hasnt been recovered..
yesterday's eclipse as seen from orange county, ca.
it's reddened because i was using a floppy disk as my filter.
closeup:
i'm pretty confident that at least some of those shapes at the bottom are mountains and craters, and not just atmospheric distortion, because they don't move all that much between photos.
also, there's a sunspot visible.
Really nice one EQ. One thing you might want to try if you use lightroom, is put an adjustment brush all over the window, and decrease Clarity below 0, and it gives a beautiful glowy look. If an area is blown out and you're unhappy about that (not saying you are) it's a great way to make it less evident.
