Ah nice, you lucker Cambodia has some wonderful places to get photos for ref and such. They were doing some repair work on one of the spires of Angkor Wat whilst I was there, but the surrounding temples are equally as impressive
@[HP] Just go to the photo you want to share, click on the "share" button just above it, select the size of the image you want and check the option for BBCode. Then just copy and paste the code that's generated into your message.
madcow, fuck yes! too bad about the branch blocking your view, though i like the clear brightness to the photo.
I need a tripod..
bought 3 new lenses and will add some more eq later, will make a trip far up north in sweden to the edge of the world, hope i can come back with some real quality shots.
lol. those spiders are the inhabitants of my patio. there's usually about 5 or 6 of them around at a time.. after nearly 10+ years of these guys being around, i finally decided to take pictures of them.
@Rens: The nest is at my house, but it's been really windy the last couple days, so I don't really want to bother the mother incase the eggs in the nest fall out. When the eggs hatch, I will have some sick new pictures though.
Concert at Montreal's Light Festival:
I was surprised I was able to get a sharp shot at 300mm with relatively low ISO, especially with how fast they were moving.
Rens: I really like that one, but the horizon doesn't seem straight.
Also the city in the background kind of detracts from the minimal composition of the boat and pier, could you have taken this one in landscape without the city in the background, with just water at the edges ?
aah yeah, that will help a ton. Will look so much better.
Dont know why i went with this, ill give it some shots this week, thanks man
Took a snapshot from the subway, but have no clue what happened, maybe i rested my warm glove too far on the lens and the pol.filter just went apeshit.

Same thing happened to me. I figured it was the window on the train.
I feel like I often can't shoot without one on my 50mm, they really help with contrast in the captured frame imo. You lose a good couple of f/stops in low light though...
I'm curious, how much do you feel a polarizing filter helps? I'd be interested, but they're really not cheap and I have multiple lenses...
Just buy a cheap one, I got a set of 77mm UV, FD8 and CPL for $20 off ebay.....
Don't fall into the "you need to buy expensive filters!!!!" trap, you just want a multicoated filter, filter quality isn't particularly important unless you're stacking multiple filters or doing huge prints where you might notice a small IQ loss.
Sure some filters are better than others, but unless you spend more time pixel peeping than shooting you're unlikely to notice.
