Today's lunch. tried to make up in photoshop what I couldn't in the kitchen. I always go too overboard though, and feel stupid when I check back the original picture and see how much of it I lost :<
A zombie march was organized here where I live. this lady was screaming and dancing with the music of a band that was playing metal. she took very seriously her role and got very very crazy :poly142: . even started to lick :poly124: the floor smeared with makeup that they were using as blood. pretty cool.
Just wait Eraserhead, Mr. 'Mylensisbiggerthanyours'.... I'm getting the Minolta 70-300mm (AKA Big Beercan!)....then.....your lens will still be bigger than mine....Damn it!
Anyway, this photo actually forced me into buying the lens
Sick of taking pics of wildlife and having to crop them down to nothing!
I tested out some build your own macrolens things, and came up with a spacer of 4 cm i think,
Pickedup a nice plastic tube that perfectly fitted on the lens,
flipped my 50mm 1.2f in/ontop of it and held it against the camera.
Not only showed it to be promissing to finish it up by actually mounting it onto a cover, but i got some nice ass dirt in there too \o/
(no tripod used so its a bit shakey)
But hell yeah im a glad i can finaly do some photography i want to without spending another 400 bucks
I would love to make my own spacer for my 50mm. Only problem is I dont know anyone in my vicinity that has any of the power tools :< I'll figure out at some point thou.
Nice as always poop. Good shots everyone, I finally got my Minolta 75-300mm Friday.... It's nice to have a lens that I know I can shoot with and I won't have to do much (if any) PP afterwards...
I chased that damn bee around the yard for hours :P
Yea it's awesome; f1.4 sure lets in a lot of light.
Taken at Sakura-Con yesterday (5D mk II + 50mm 1.4 again):
Gackt and Mana!! That was so funny.
Eraserhead and I were at the Sakuracon and I saw these two walk by dressed as two musicians from my favorite Japanese band, Malice Mizer. Of course I had to have a picture. They stopped walking and posed and within 15 seconds there must have been 30 cameras on them.
Whatever it takes! I must say though, since I got this camera, I have been losing weight... You should see me when I go to Gettysburg, I'm all up in those monuments!
My brother and I were driving around the countryside looking for neat things to shoot. We went down this farm lane to turn around and found this graveyard under a big oak tree. It's pretty bad ass, most of the graves were from the mid 1800's.
First set of shots from my new 7D. Turns out I had no idea how to manage most of the manual settings as it was a completely different formfactor than the xti it replaced. Drunk and in the dark = not best way to figure out a new camera.
Made another shot to try out some more tricks, held a mirror on the side to light it up more, seems to have canceled out my figure reflection in the waterdrop, it also created another highlight point on it.
To try and avoid the unwanted light, i dipped my finger in a can of black paint and smeared the inside of the spacer, filling the little spaces between the taped parts and getting rid of the white middle part. See what it does when its dried up

Yes it is, I only had a little pocket point and shoot with me, I had to stitch them together later.
StJoris, amazing shot, love the light bleed.
Playing around with my girlfriend's brand spanking new 550D this weekend:
Not quite macro, at 55mm of the 18-55 kit lens.
OK now you're just showing off.

Rolled a sheet of paper around the PVCtube to make a clean line, then sanded it down till it matched it perfectly.
rens, nice one. I gotta get around to making a mount as well.
Did a couple of tests with the kit lens (18-55), just holding it inverted against the camera body. Fun stuff!

More ghetto macro stuff, this time with a stubbed out cigarette.
