This thread just stole a bunch of my time lol, following up on the Olympic Mascot, watching the making of the blocks video and watching the lecture on the future of gaming.
The Bear is hilarious - there's loads more on the creator Michael Barrick's website.
The Lecture is pretty Epic, not too sure about the final 5 minutes, or the conclusion reached, but the beginning and middle are rock solud.
The whole Elastic Velvet rope analagy was spot on, as was the comparison of the Ipad to a giant swiss army knife (meaning a swiss army knife is useful as a pocket sized thing, but if you organised all your kitchen utensils into a giant 3 foot long swiss-army knife style device, they wouldn't be all that useful, pocket sized or convenient )
Love the look of the Shank game, did anyone notice the blonde characters were called Brock? I wonder if Christopher McCulloch / Doc Hammer are involved?
Ok, that conjures up a couple of thoughts:
- Is this sigourney weaver???
- I'm sorry maam, it looks like your baby may be slightly epileptic
- Maybe she's miming a roller coaster
You'd think with all the effort they went to with fancy transforming animations that they would have gotten someone competent to do the simple walks and movement animations.
