This is the sweet spot for your low-poly models. Post 'em if you've got 'em!Low-poly hasn't really been a requirement in the games industry for a long while now. This thread is for low-poly art style appreciation, so please take note of these rough guidelines:
- Keep models under 1,000 triangles.
- Scenes are fine, if all models are low poly.
Some dedicated low-poly modelling tools now exist that make this art style a lot easier to produce;

had posted this before but somehow my last 2 posts somehow didn't make it.
good job! I like it.
btw, is that the real unwrapped map? or is a photoshop makeup to show all the texture?
Those are the game asteroids :P
c&c welcome.
Really cool, love the textures, so much detail!
think im milking this one too much, lol, just gonna finish the back then upload an SDK
Then 4 hues in the texture are so similar, I can barely tell them apart when they are on the model. Try making one light green/blue, etc.
@ 7point83hertz: Lol thanks
@ dactilardesign: Yeah that's the texture map with the UVs laid over it.
@ JFletcher: Thanks, your model is turning out pretty sweet too. It makes me want to make another 500 tri model. Hrmmm....
@ Johny: Thanks for the suggestion. I'll definitely go back and put those in.
they look too similiar to you? indeed they are. I will tweak them Thank you!!
Decided to do a rig for mr. ironman. Might try to do some animations for fun. Once I finish this rig might upload it for fun :P
Looks awesome.

@ericdigital,
Very cool, i think the shadows in the red areas could use a little shift in colour, but really cool, nice details and highlights.
Awesome little dude as well, absolutely love the stylized approach. I hope you find the time to do a few more!
was going to say the same about the yellow areas, i think the shadows here are too black make them lighter and more saturated,
fancy painting on some reflections? would looks ace if its quite subtle, or maybe a just a touch of blue fresnel
Will post up a revision sometime today hopefully!
edit: actually on a side note do you guys know any wicked artists off hand that rock at metal, reflections etc on low res goods?
anyway there is something I've been doing lately.
Model has 506 tris (plz dont kill me for this), texture 128^2
Here is a quick one: I'm learning Unity 3D and I wanted an Izz for my Maxx character to smash up. This way I can run a bunch of tests inside the Unity3d engine.
quick search gave me this

cool sword, i think the lightning effects could be a little more subtle, but imo it depends how small it would be in a viewport (smaller better)
i couldnt help but think that it looks similar the Thunderfury, Blessed blade of the Wind Seeker, a Legendary weapon from WoW.

nice one.
How's this for a low poly strong reinforced wood crate?
Cheers!
P.S. Sorry if this ends up being a double post due to it needing to be approved. (but I got no warning or notice that the quick reply needed pending approval.)
Pretty good likeness to the original sprite, if you wanna go further i'd suggest adjusting the proportions.
One thing I think is kind of lame is how the eyes sort of "wrap around" the head a little. You could make the front of the face a little more flat or scale up the uvs of the face or whatevr or find some other method of your own to remedy this... idk.
nice work..... Harry.
Cheers!

Not everybody has the talent you and bobo, and b1ll and etc express on a daily basis. Not all of us can produce incredible work all the time like those guys. That is why they are noteworthy and special. This is not only a forum for pimping and display, but for learning. Please! Help them and all of us to improve. That is the real and noble purpose of Polycount. To freely enable those of with the passion to learn.
Invest some of that considerable talent. Make some tutorials!.
