It looks like when you went to your low poly mesh you went a little TOO low poly Thats theo only problem I can see with the WIP model, is that its just to square to be believable
I was afraid of that, I'll check the verts again and see if I can make it look a teeny bit smoother. I think I'm back on track, I made a fancy to-do list to get past the mental block on how to push the texture. I'm still all ears on ideas, though.
Nice bales. Heh. Now I'm no expert but it seems to be that the round haybales are usually pretty huge (5-8 feet around) and the smaller ones are square.
Thanks, I really wish I'd caught that earlier. At some point hours ago the spine was great, I must have messed it up when I was detailing the lower back.
Haha, I saw the episode soo long ago, and I only managed to find the reference pic at mcpeepants and there it was listed under "T-Shirt of the Living Dead" and then I went to tv.com and it was the same there, but I don't know, maybe in the episode they actually call it "the T-shirt of the Undead." I need to save up and buy the dvds and rewatch it.
Ninjas: Going by the shape of his feet and the position of the flower bed I'd say he's clipping into the stones surrounding the flowerbed. Even if there is a niche where he stands (the background suggests that), the viewer doesn't see that and it's perceived as clipping.
Yeah. I think you're right KDR. I'm usually pretty keen on doing things "right", BUT this was just a test to show the (non-tech savvy) cast that we aren't totally full of shit.
I also think the robot is maybe a hair too washed out. Overall, for something that is just going to be a background prop, I'm pretty pleased with myself, and now I'm fairly confident I CAN do a proper job with reasonable render times of comping it it when it comes to it.
ninjas, looking cool! even if this was just a quick mock-up, it's still very forceful and double-take-inducing. agree with kdr's crit abou the feet and would only add a touch more ambient light into the mech and a touch more blue into the mech's cast shadow. if, that is, you feel like pushing it further. nice!

If I remember correctly, you just press "c" while over a color to select it.

I don't know what it is either
For this month's Cgchat challenge. It's a ninja kid that's about 75% done(the modeling part).
A quick, 800 triangle head that I did today. Should be good for some texturing practice.
EDIT - Update! I'm not sure why, but he seems to have developed a facination with blood and high-collared clothing.

I made the haybales! Model/unwrap/texture in under an hour, the map is made by Alex "AlejandroJ" Jordan.

Thanks C. Kane for all the cool inspiration in the past
