R13 asked me to do a bit of a redesign on the ol Greentooth trophy so it doesn't keep rolling on its back all the time Despite the fact I changed my projection area, and completely forgot to change my brightness and contrast, it still managed to print, which is a miracle in itself, but to sit it on the floor, and find it naturally rolled in to this position was just fantastic! \m/
I recently made this LionCup. The lion is supposed to represent the lion of babylon. I thought I would share my process with you. If you click the image below, you will find yourself watching a 10x time-lapse of me modeling and coloring the cup.
Hey Everyone! Here is a project which I created for the ZBrush 2019 version as beta tester, it was a mesmerising experience, lots of new tools, and many improvements, the new NPR is truly ground breaking I find .. Final topo done with ZRemesher 3.0 Printed with form Labs 2 I will sell the skull later on at a low price if any one is interested, get in touch.
The friend that I collaborated with on the Polycount/Warframe weapon swap contest years ago just got a 3D printer in his classroom. It's a Creality CR-10. I sent him the high poly mesh and he printed it using a 70% infill using a wood infused PLA.
I would like to get back into creating 3D print for personal hobby. I created a few for clients but can not show on forums. Here's my last go. Created in Zbrush - Printed by a pro 3D printer I corresponded with in MN USA:
Sharing some painted miniatures I sculpted, they all have been 3d printed and then a mold was made of it for production. They are all at least 54 mm tall, depending on the posing and faction. It was very fun to do, as it is my first project that include printing, I learnt a lot
nothing fancy. just couple of lapel pins. was for a wedding but it was canceled last minute due to hurricane Dorian. Silver one works as cuff link too. Bronze pin takes standard clutch back.
@Edgar T nice! I just joined the Photon FB group today and saw your work there. One look at that owl and I thought “I bet this artist is a polycounter!”
I just bought the Photon S. I’ve gotten some pleasant results and also some frustrating bugs to work out. Here’s what I’ve got
(I may need to come back on the PC to downres these images, sorry!)
for some reason I’ve started having issues with loading more items on the build plate, especially the turrets. I’ve discovered and tweaked issues w the slicer, resin settings, leveling, the FEP... still getting wonkies, still troubleshooting.
Sculpted, printed, and painted my 'avatar', the D&D character I played in the late 80's/early 90's I took my nick from... the tip of the kriegsmesser broke in removing supports, though. Printed on an Anycubic Photon, painted with a combo of Vallejo, Citadel, and Warcolours paints.
Hey all! I recently started trying to print some stuff, using my brother's Ender 3. Now I would like to do more of this, but I don't always have access to his machine. So I was considering buying a machine for myself. Maybe a Photon/S, maybe an Ender 3/5, for printing more models, figurines and miniatures. Do you guys have any recommendations? Pros and cons?
Hi all! After 3 weeks with our ender 3 pro, we decided to create our Halloween masks with it It was a really fun/fast project, I sculpted the masks in zbrush on top of a photogrammetry scan we did of our faces (they have a simple moving jaw mechanism) while my girlfriend did the feathery costume:
Here is a PLA printed Samurai Oni mask. I normally use it with a surgical dust mask underneath and has come to be pretty handy. Sculpted the mask in zbrush and printed in cura. Print time is 7hrs with a 0.4mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.3mm on an ender 3. Made a small production of these to see if people wanted any. Link below. But any comments or crit’s I’d love to hear what you all think. Thanks.
Hello Everyone, I recently left a 3D printing company, just because it was so dang wasteful. We were a fairly small company, but would throw away thousands of pounds of unrecyclable plastic a week. Also the plastic was so cheap a huge majority broke during post processing and became trash.
So my question is why?? why do we 3D print our models when we are just taking pictures of them and uploading them to the internet??? They look like shit compared to the digital version, it just seems very backwards and stupid to me that we are generating so much waste for silly figures that will inevitably end up in the ocean.
What are some thoughts on that? Are you aware how much waste 3D printing creates?
Hello! I am currently growing some chilli plants and wanted to print some ornamental pots, perhaps in the shapes of the chillies I'm growing. I was worried however about the toxicity of the resin, will it seep into the soil and poison the plants?

I doubt you would do a resin based print for something as large as a plant pot, so I'm assuming normal FDM printing.
PLA is non toxic (they make food containers out of it) but some dyes used in it may not be. So to be really safe you could print in natural PLA and then paint the outside whatever colour you would like.
Hi Everyone, Managed to smooth down my production pipeline since last time. Print time for these masks takes up to 7 hrs at 0.3mm layer height and I optimized the orientation to reduce supports. As for painting I use a combination of regular spray paint, polyurethane and lastly sand them to smooth the surface for whatever color needed. Been experimenting with different finishes and put some on Etsy to see if people were interested. The ones gone so far are the black and white ones. What color would you all suggest? And any tips on spray painting pla prints? The current brand I use is rust-oleum. Oh if anyone's interested the shop links in the signature. Let me know what you all think.

Still have some sanding to do but nearly there!

Great work from all really! All looking fantastic!
