Here's my latest! Still can't quite get to the level of polish I want, but I'm improving!
KAKTUZLIME thanks for showing your process! Always helpful!
Here is a little sketch, I decided to make a character everyday to stimulate my creativity/productivity.
It's the 25'th, if you have any critic that could help me improve please share your thoughts !
I might render this guy out later.

@aesir If you are looking for ways to push it farther I would recommend blending in the overall green tone with the local tones you have in the flesh and the red ribbons. They feel slightly "out" of the scene in terms of color. So whether that's bounced light or direct, it should adjust the tones a bit. Then in terms of forms, you could clean up a bit of the foreground plants. I like how you have crisp clean graphic shapes in the falling leaves, but that rendering gets lost a bit in the foliage down at the bottom. They don't necessarily need to be "sharp" but the value difference and shapes kind of feel thrown in, instead of intentionally serving the composition. Hope that helps at least a little.
@jamesoreilly Nice!
@ThomasRome The character is obviously intentionally twisted/deformed, but to me he reads more off balance and strangely posed than as deformed. So if you are looking for crits, I would recommend first distributing weight. He can certainly be off balance with his deformation, but his pose should represent that weight distribution. As far as design, I might suggest trying to imply the course of mutation.. maybe by twisting the body in the transition areas between where the anatomy would be normally and where it has mutated to. For example, the mutated anatomy currently looks like it is simply in a new location, but it doesn't really feel like the mutations have bulged and PUSHED anatomy out of the way. Just some thoughts. Good luck!
@Jeff Parrott Nice caricatures!
Practice piece from this morning. I'm trying to make it a habit of taking my sketches a bit farther more regularly.
Just finished a sketchbook, so I had to crack open a new one and get back to it.
Here is my last Daylicharacter, a cyborg-mutant veteran with a furious envy to fry something up !
I made a video if you're interested in the process : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVHQL40vxsE
I try to keep a good balance between time and quality (I give myself a max of 2 hours/character)
If you have a comments that might help me improve please share it, I am eager to learn and improve !
Well that's what happened to me yesteray : I wanted to go to sleep early and ended up panting until 2am (not much for some but its 3 hours past my usual schedule).
And of course, I can't stay asleep after 8am \o/
Anyway heres a wip, tell me what you think !
I am trying to have something oppresive/mysterious (i will stay in b&w) so if you have any composition advices please share'em I am here to learn !
*tip. Don't shade with black.

Link redesign, done in the same style as my previous Zelda post.
That's really good, Kaktuz. Fun and sinister at the same time. Like!
I'm working on a more realistic creature/character of a mail carrier owl fella to test out a Yiynova pen monitor. There's much more to be done, but I'm learning a lot about underpaintings and playing with color!
Peaceful painting, been feeling pretty homesick!
playing with color:
Made a beholder a little bit ago and then been working on some environment concepting. Just trying to get better at illustration and painting in general.
I am trying to experiment stuff to have a more stylized "cool" aspect for my characters, and that's what i came up with.
I also made a commented video about it if youre interested and I would apreciate any feedback regarding its quality!
