aesir this might sound weird, but imo your older version of femalelongbow is better than your rework, the older version shows your brush strokes and the time you put into it, also the eye shadow on your rework is not comparable with the other color tones(clothing, skin) , it seems a bit strange and bothering how bold her eye shadow is.. On the other hand the rework of hborhood05 is composed and the colors are more confident. Nice work!

I totally get what you're saying! There are parts that I don't feel really progressed. But then there are also bits like the sleeve on the right side that feel so much cleaner.
I have a lot of trouble polishing my art.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep working on it for sure.
nice start, rav3. Her right hand looks like it could use a little tweaking. The finger looks like she's depressing the trigger, and her thumb is hidden in a somewhat unnatural way. It also looks like you could accentuate the curve on her belt and the bottom of her coat a little more, it is kind of flattening out her hips. Just some first impressions, take it or leave it
I just got back from a summer of camp, and started up some color comps for a RoE project:
kaktuz: Thanks man! I'm in awe of your stuff, simply amazing.
Rav3: Looks interesting! Something about the shadow from the cap is bugging me a little bit though, maybe it's the edge that does'nt feel completely natural or something..
Dwarf cleric, had some huge difficulties with this one, but decided to push through. Not sure if it was worth it.. :P
Put this in my thread, but thought i would share here as well, enjoyed doing this one. Still learning a lot and its great to see so much cool 2D in the thread.
Makkon: Looking good! Would be interesting to see what would happen if you did something else with the eyebrows, or removed them completely, in order to push her more towards being fish-like. Maybe it will just look completely horrible, though. ^^;
SleepingGiant: Cool! Nice with the animation too, makes me miss wow a little bit. Be careful with the rimlight though, right now it's catching in a few areas where it shouldn't (his left shoulder guard, for example, would have been covered by his body, I think).
Ltmark101: Welcome! Interesting design, though I'd recomend looking at some skulls for reference (if a realistic skull shape is what you are looking for), right now it's not completely convincing.
Not feeling it 100% with this one.. so critique is highly appreciated.
EricElwell: Neat design, just one thing: I'm reading "Gundergrounds", due to the worm forming letters sort of. Is that intended?
Latest character design. I also made a tutorial on my tumblr in case anyone is interested.
edit: And thank you Daew! You are right, I wanted to push the idea of looking up from the ground plane, but I probably overdid it. Thank you for the feedback!
Currently working on this ogrelike creature, hope you guys dig it, hit me up with what with you think so far! I'm streaming while painting this badboy now and then over at : https://sywork.tv/channel/name/henrik-rosenborg-art
Damn, you guys are killing it! I'm in love with those Dota screens, kendmd. The brush strokes are so beautiful!
I'm kinda ashamed to post these amongst all this awesome art, but I'm trying to learn to paint - so here are some photo studies focusing mainly on colour which is what I struggle with most. They were a lot of fun though!
I decided to do a before and after. Took a painting I did a year ago and redid it. I wanted to see how much I had improved/changed. Let me know what you think.
randomspirits, that's much improved, and very stylistic. The older piece did have some nice areas of light and dark that got a little lost, namely that the midground flattened out a bit, but compositionally your remake is much more pleasing (in addition to the nice textures).
