Is dDO 2 still gonna be a part of Photoshop ? (script/plugin/w.e)
Yes, it is still a UI overlay you get in photoshop. However, the new DDO materials and masks are based on scan data instead of photoshop generated masks.

So lets see if I understand this correctly, if I preorder the Quixel Suite now, I will get access to the public beta as soon as it's available (which it isn't yet at the point of this writing) and when the the suite comes out of beta, it'll carry over into a full license? Does that sound right?

Yes. You will also get a copy of nDo2 and dDo.
Hopefully the beta will be out soon. I believe Quixel said it would be available Q2 of 2014. That leaves about another month (hopefully)
I only fear that relying on Photoshop will be its downfall, and that Substance Pack will be a better deal.
That was my only gripe - the workflow felt kinda bolted on and convoluted for the current version due to the reliance on PS without conforming to typical PS behavior. The megascan aspect seems really cool though and is the one thing I'm probably gonna miss by going with Allegorithmic's tools over these.
I'm curious about the workflow here. I read somewhere this is a highpoly zbrush made model. How was it uv'd since it was made totally in zbrush? I'm wondering if there are tricks to get nice uvs on a true highpoly model other than the auto garbage you would get with GUV Tiles or the rest.
I pre ordered ages ago and have been waiting so long! But only 5 days left! Been using nDo2 and the legacy dDo for now but I cannot wait for this!!!!!!
It's 6am in Sweden. Wonder if they'll upload during the morning or if they'll spend the whole day setting it up and then releasing at night?...
It'd be nice if they release it soon while the US people is still sleeping so we can download it in waves and prevent any potential server crashes. Or maybe it won't be that much stress anyway?

I don't think they are working on the suite, I think they are probably working on their servers/systems etc to make sure you can actually download it.
