Here is update number 4 for the Mountain Dwarf project I am working on. I did some mock ups for the hair and beard. I have a lot of tweaking to do with it, but I am happy with it for now. Since it is going to be sculpted hair, I was thinking of making the ends of the hair and pieces that break up the silhouette a bit stylized, but let me know what you guys think about that.I started the rock arm on his left arm (your right) a bit, but there is a ton more I want to do with it. It's too soft right now and I still want it to match the reference a bit more. I still have lots of little pieces to get blocked out. Like the diamond piece on the mid belt. Also, still messing with some wrinkles that I am not liking too much on the belt. Too bunched up for my taste.Feet need adjusting and need to start on the other glove. Slowly, but surely I am getting there, lot of work ahead of me, but this guy rocks!!! (See what I did there) Comments and critiques please!
mmmm, don't know what I can tell about my workflow, I start with a tube for the front wheel and start off from there
I wish I could you more, but it's just A LOT of pratice
lol That was a pretty basic interview question. I'd brush up on that one:)
This is what I got so far. I've got a better grasp of how light works now. My next step will be to make a new wall as the one I have now is just a temp. I also want to do something about the orange crystals as I don't think they look so good right now.
Guys..if you could help me i would be very glorious.. i have a concept(i drew it xD, ill post it later maybe) its about the 3 spirits, then i started watching tuts about 3d sculpting in zbrush, n blender. I am absolutely a novice in the 3d creation world. But i have few knowledge(ie.the basics: user interaface, basic sculpts, uv unwraps,etc) due to watching tuts this last 3 weeks. The problem is, i am alone, and very ultra unexperienced.hahaha.i would really love to work with someone who has a very good knowledge in 3D.im quite scared that if i would pursue this,work so hard,spend some coffee, sweat and time, then in the end it will just all fail... i am 17, college student,bus. course, and summer is coming(week from know,sweet 3 weeks )
I like it Mik, it looks like the kind of thing you would run into in england at the time.
Cryptonomicon:
Of course, the underlying structure of everything in England is posh. There is no in-between with these people. You have to walk a mile to find a telephone booth, but when you find it, it is built as if the senseless dynamiting of pay phones had been a serious problem at some time in the past. And a British mailbox can presumably stop a German tank. None of them have cars, but when they do, they are three-ton hand-built beasts. The concept of stamping out a whole lot of cars is unthinkablethere are certain procedures that have to be followed, Mr. Ford, such as the hand-brazing of radiators, the traditional whittling of the tyres from solid blocks of cahoutchouc.

Sword looks great Dave! Maybe add some more texture to the leather and I think the albedo might be a bit too dark for the leather. Also the blade seems a bit short for a two-handed sword, but that might be perspective.
@komaokc
The materials are fairly basic here: I'm only using multiple materials with normal and gloss maps. I'll keep tweaking things until I'm completely happy. As is, I had to change the gloss and spec of the leather between the two lighting conditions to get it to look how I wanted.
Quicky just to try some Hard modeling using only ZB (quite happy with the speed and the quality, definitley not suiatable for close ups and stuff, but really great for detailed mockups)

thank you so much.
A bone axe I made in ZBrush. Currently working to get it to Maya for some animation and better lighting. Comes with concept art!
Feedback welcome.
Awesome work everyone!
salamat in advance.xD,
Thanks this helped me so much, you got any more tips :-p

As for the proportions, this is a real sword made by a blacksmith down in Australia. You can see many images of the sword(s) here (he's made multiple with the same basic design). I may have made the blade a bit too short and the bottom handle half a bit too long. It's supposed to be a hand and a half sword, in between a 2h and 1h sword.
I used this image for the basic proportions
@Anchang-Style
Thanks. The 1st shot uses the "Garage" sky preset with no lights. The 2nd uses the "Grace Cathedral" sky preset with 1 spot light.
2500 tris and a really quick 512x256 tetxure
The first one looks like the picture more, but the second looks more dramatic and makes the details like the engraving pop more.

I have about another few hours of work on it and I'll begin the low poly/unwrap process (ugh!!!).
Just brushing up on my hard surface, still gotta make the bi-pod, finish the suppressor and clean up a few things, then I can move on to the lowpoly.
