Central prop from a scene I'm working on. I had so much struggle with that wood, glad I can finally move on.
Ooh! I like the rendering of those crystals..
Any tips on how you did them?

Here's some handpainted textures I've made
Hey CoD67, seems like you have a good general idea for the wood, but there are a few parts which can use some work. Instead of copy pasting from the tutorial, I'll suggest reading through part of Vertex. It's an excellent place for any kind of tutorial by really cool artists. There's a really good tutorial for wood and stone in the first vertex around page 50. It's where I got my base tutorials for wood. link below \/

somewhere in this cool handpainted thread I made a gif of my process for making wood and stone in photoshop, I am by no means a pro, but just to give you an idea, must be a few pages back by now.
also this might be helpful to give a looksy, wood and stone painting techniques. Stole from my buddy Harry (Thanks mista Boltz!)

I just finished this today
Shader's in UDK, the textures are varying combinations of Photoshop, Zbrush, nDo2 and Maya.
Get them here - https://gumroad.com/l/cMTW
wish l could paint wood like you Megacorpse
just get this one done
Looks amazing!
How do you go about creating your tileable textures so perfectly?
It's a bit more complicated than that unless I'm doing something wrong.
Paint some brick guides
use offset
where the guides dont meet up, MAKE them meet up
use offset again until guides are nice and tidy and tile when I use offset repeatedly
Repeat process with paint.
It's worth adding I only use a single layer 90% of the time unless I don't want to be destructive, I'll instead then duplicate>amend>collapse when I'm happy.
Wrap around is on by default StephLee I'm sure
OK, that's what I do. Had to check as I thought you found a way to cut corners.
