Absolutely amazing work Stertman! Although I get the feeling her face is really shinny making it look like plastic, I would darken up the gloss map and spread those highlights to give it more roughness and less glossy sharp reflections.
Not ready yet, still will work on proportion adjusts, color correction on clothes, eye and skin specular/reflection adjust, and some fur rendering problem (that I dont have a clue how to make it work.....)
Here is the first screenshot WIP of a new scene I'm currently working on. Going for a more painterly feel on the textures. Still a lot of work to do. C&C Welcome ^_^
Hello guys ! Long time i haven't been in there ! My job's IP address has been banned - who shall i contact to fix this? I can no longer go see PC during my lunchbreaks
I miss all that awesome stuff !
I'm currently working on Vulvor, a character we created with friends about two years ago. Trying to bring him to life. Tested Mari for texturing, and tried to get good results with Vray Fast SSS2. I'll share my settings when this is finished if some would like me to. More pics!
Critics are welcome ! @Ysalex : damn it your last posts give me pain... awesome renders and shaders ! :poly142:
Juju, thats awesome but I don't think its a very successful caricature of Walt. You emphasized weird things about him when they aren't striking features, he's got a big round head, not a long one. If you were to give him a huge cranium I think that would have worked better.
Thanks for the feedback Sukotto. I did a lot of research before I settled on this particular version. I checked out Jason Seiler who is a caricature ninja and he regularly breaks all the "rules". I think the most important thing I got from my research was to try and get the "essence" of the character. Hopefully I've done a bit of that.
If its any consolation, I hadn't the slightest clue who you were going for, and ended up getting it. Never watched much of the show either. So you're doing something right
meh this place is amazing as usual... @juju: I didn't watch the show either but still I got who it was so it's not that "bad"... I even like this version more as it goes for an unexpected route!
@disting: speechless...that's top notch stuff! keep it up
not much to show myself but i came back from some holidays to sculpting and I got better results than expected on some style studies for my wip envi.
And just for kicks and laughs here's the comparison with where i was before the holidays... LINK OF SHAME
Fightpunch. Amazing! Thanks L0ckeness, Fnitrox and s620ex1. Everyone else, thanks for the crits but like I said, in caricature, the essence is what's important, as long as you can tell who it is, everything else is subjective and I kinda like the big ears so I'm keeping them.
thatanimator, rad subject. I'd have alook at some actual skate vids tho. Generally during an ollie a skater will karate kid style fling their arms in the air as if to scoop themselves up into the air akin to swimming underwater.
[HP] Lovely scene dude, the tank design supplements it beautifully
s620ex1 Nice wall tile, I had a nosy in your thread brilliant textures in there.
Almost ready to start detailing these;
Started on the Jacket aswell but needs alot of creasework before anythings worth critting lol.
ive been experimenting with light colours for my renders, seeing which is best.
ive been using 3 Omni lights of different colours postitioned around the model, think its looking good!
orange, blue and white:
pink, blue and orange:
pink, red and white:
yellow, green and orange:
think i prefer the pink blue and orange, i think it works quite nicely.
Been a while since I posted anything - after seeing Man of Steel a while ago, I just fell in love with Faora, such a badass character so I decided to see if I could make her.
Long ways to go still, but here she is in the bodysuit so far. Nothing is final, everything is WIP
Speed modeled this beetle for work. There are some missing details and it could certainly use more polish but I only have about 20 hours invested into it.

Mind showing us the wireframe and texture? To see what's going on Looks great!
Hot ! Like it
model is looking great! I would definitely reconsider the pose tho, its really off balance and uncomfortable looking.

You can have great results while 'breaking the rules', but it doesn't always quite work out.
Eyes and jaw/cheeks really help to sell his look.
juju- lovin the subdued colors, attention to detail. the style is just awesome. i recognized him immediately haha.
heres a quick one i finished up the other night.
Finished my high poly of Rainbow Mika, don't mind the hair, its just a placement holder. Moving onward to retoping.

Working from a piece of concept I found.
Here's some kind of chocobo.
Really digging this, I love the old school, 50's vibe to the design.
Jaco! What an adorable little fella
