Ged: yea i pretty much redid deer girls head from a ball, but this time using my rei as ref to hit that same looks again, i didn't want to use Rei actual head for the deer girl, since the deer girl was all done from complete scratch.
aaaalllrighty.
I'm starting to think trying to make a whole set of plate armor was a terrible idea. Everything is blocked in now, except for a cloth sash and her weapon. Oh and gloves, no gloves yet.
next up is detailing, some filigree stuffs; similar to this:
For her weapon I want to do something like this, but a little more practical.
hey mrskullface nice update! daphz love it but could she use slightly more feminine idealistic proportions eg longer legs and some eyebrows(maybe those were coming anyway)?
Lroy - Looks great man, the only issue I thought of was the fingers being quite chunky, some work could be done to make them more feminine. Apart from that, looking great!
Afisher, I think something is off with her mouth. The way I interpret it, it might benefit from being less vertically wide and possible also horizontally longer.
Haha yea I'm reminded of a funny comic I saw about how easy it would be to disable these girls because of their barely there costumes. No worries nothing a little double sided tape won't fix
Lroy: Lookn sexy man, I think you could lean her out some. Her breasts could be perkier and hands smaller. I'm just going off the concept,so ignore me if you plan on going another direction.
Daphz: Awesome dude she's a tank! Personally I think her face is a bit too pale. Would be cool if you did something similar to the lannister's armor with the lion heads on the shoulders and more intricate stuff on the chest
afisher: Killer update man, a little more knuckle definition will help those fingers. How about a little more hip and little less waist. Also I can't believe I'm saying this but maybe her breasts are little too big? Compared to the concept.
mrskullface: Hawt man, not much to say right now until we see more of her below those BOOBS!
Oh man these updates are like little, tiny presents leading up to Christmas! Haven't really got a fave as you are all sporting amazing pieces. Just get them done you hear me!
Got a bit of a head start. Blocked out and worked on a few things. Something isn't feeling right translating the concept to more natural proportions. Going to see if I can exaggerate some things and find a balance.
Hair is a placeholder. Going with planes for game res.
Here's the skin matcap if anyones wondering. It was a little bright for me, might take some adjusting.
just wanted to say nice work on this character so far and a huge thank you for the link to the matcap. havent been finding good results with a lot of skin shaders, nor eyeball reflection matcaps--both of these are very good. thanks!
Hellmouth, dustinborwn, Elscorcho: Thanks for the crits guys, really appreciate it!
mr_ace: thanks man, yea the skin shader is from zbro. http://luckilytip.blogspot.kr/ He's got some great other matcaps that I use all the time as well.
Armed-Developers: Cheers man. For the folds I just block in the main flow and shapes at a low subdivision and slowly refine them as I go up in levels. I mainly use Standard brush with lazy mouse, Dam standard, move and smooth. I sometimes use Selwys cloth brushes as well: http://www.selwy.com/2009/zbrush-clothes-tutorial/
ok, so I'm gonna kick things off for the new year. I've almost finished the sculpt, then I'll get started on the low poly. I'm planning on using some planes for the hair, so some of the hair is just placeholder. Thanks again everyone!
