Manly tears were shed, Fletcher. Mind blowing work, although her hair wouldv'e needed a tiny more work, the look in her eyes is astonishing. I'm loving that piece of craft,
Really amazing work Jon! You've always been an inspiration! Hoping to see you post more info, such as your maps, it would be incredibly helpful for a student, like myself!
For those of you who are waiting for his massive dump of info I am sorry but the princess is in another castle. I already jumped on this early last year and you can now read it in VERTEX 2 when we wrap it up. For now here is a teaser of some of his raw content.
Like I told you before Jonathan great model glad you finished it. I look forward to the next one!
Jesus Christ,
I'm really just, blown away by this.
If only Skyrim allowed for such fidelity and detail for their characters (not knocking on any of the work there).
This is next gen
I'd love to see her in motion, or some kind of video show the character from all angles.
Hehe this makes a good wall paper for my monitor arrangement. Thanks man! And congratulations on getting your stuff into Vertex 2, can't wait to see the breakdown!!
sooo, maybe a stupid question- but I honestly don't know, and i think it's one of my problems... 47K sound like a whole lot... Is that what current gen polycounts are? I Always feel like mine have to be as minimal as possible which ends up hurting me in the long run...
@ R0gu3
I was thinking about that too, so I did a bit of research..apparently it heavily depends on the engne and the type of game, but the official CryEngine 3 documentation says about 9-16k triangles for a main character, while for example Drake from Uncharted uses 20-30k..
Would be interesting how those numbers change for PS4 etc...
waw, love the final!
looks really cool!
I would defently like to play the game who has her as a main character,
kicking all sexualised women in games asses! xD
I just had to chime in with another ass pat. I love this so much. I think her face is great, female beauty is so subjective and if you try to please everyone it just ends up blah. My favourite aspect of this piece though, is the materials and their colours. Such a nice mix of warm earth tones and I feel like could reach out and touch that scarf.
It's funny how hard you are on yourself about it, but at the same time I totally understand being tired of looking at a piece and feeling like it feel short of what you maybe wanted. Happens to me all the time. Externally though, I think everyone agrees it's a success. Great job!
Why is this not in the showcase? I absolutely love the clothing, such an interesting mix of different textiles and they compliment each other so well. It's full of interesting detail. I can't wait to see the breakdown in VERTEX2.

My favourite part of this whole piece is the presentation. If anything I would suggest thats where character artists should be taking notes.
excellent job, mister !
great work!

I'm sure there will be a good breakdown in the Vertex 2 magazine.
When is the magazine scheduled to come out anyway?
Wonderful work.
