do you have reff for the hat because I have been watching this thread and the hat is really bugging me now. Otherwise this is super solid but that's just my opinion.
I think it's useless to add another "amazing" or "awesome", so I won't ^^.
Anyway, I don't think that the hands are too big as you said. And even if they are, just let them like this, we always exagerate the hands a bit in videogame, right ?
How many tris do you plan for the lowpoly ? Just curious.
Ace looking stuff, brah. The cap on her head makes it a little to wide, but that's just a persona thought. I agree with Strkl on the fold near the belt, it looks really good.
Man the concept art was awesome, but I like the 3D version even better!
I'm not sure how I feel about the hat though, it makes the head/face seem really round at the moment. And for some reason it feels like there isn't enough room for her head.
I made a small paintover (hope you don't mind) to show what I mean. Left side is the old head; notice how little room there is for the hair, especially if you keep in mind that the leather+fur would be pretty thick too. Right side is what I'd expect it to be like.
(Oh and I just noticed. If you look at the strap in this image, it's intersecting with the fur.)
Also 2 nitpicks: The laces on her tummy and those 3 clasps on her belt are now (almost?) exact copies of each other. Since these part won't be mirrored(?) I think making them slightly unique won't hurt. But like I said.. nitpicking.
them gloves...man those are nice! the a symmetrical piece across her chest is a nice addition too. the folds you have in the sleeves and loincloth are really nice now as well you do great folds man.
crazy stupid awesome... love this character Fletch, beautiful execution and attention to detail. The cloth work and form size/distribution makes her read so well... can't wait to see how this turns out.
Haven't updated this in a while, I wanted to do a bit more but have been procrastinating a bit lately with the more tedious bits / decision making
Better to post something rather than nothing though
There's a lot im going to change, main things being more interesting stuff on the back, redo the torso area and the folds, legs aren't really looking right at the moment
Anyway it's a bit late over here and I can't really find the energy to go explain everything I wanna change so I did some nonsensical scribbles
Going for a more elegant looking character, I'm aware she may look a bit young though an will continue to fiddle with the face. She wont look so clean in the final texture though.
Looks cool dude. I see you're trying to go a bit more realistic with her face. One thing I noticed is she looks a bit sad now. I think it's the drop in the eyebrow before the beginning from the center. Looks like she's almost furrowing her brow. Also her lips/mouth/muzzle looks a bit flat from the 3/4ths view, might just be my weird eye though. Other than that it's look swell dude. Keep at it
This is such a well executed character. One of the best I've seen in quite some time. She's looking much more decorative now and less like a survivalist/hunter. She looks more like she's from a rich/noble family and is out on a hunting trip. I think it's mostly the hat and clothing details that give me that impression. Not a bad thing though! I think it actually makes her more unique.
Not sure about the new hat, looks a bit too "fashion" compared to the clothes, if you see what I mean. It's well done, but it doesn't fit the character.
which wonderbeans have you been eating man.
Really nice progress on the model, also i like the fact that all those details are nicely bakeable within their bigger shapes without have to use a shitload of geometry on them
Like the new version a lot more actually. She looks more grounded in reality, although I feel too that the face looks like it's dropping down bit, particularly below the eyes and the jaw, like shes dropping her jaw with the lips still closed basically.
Dunno how realistic you want to go but perhaps the fur could be chunked up a bit? Becomes a bit noisy on some placed although still works very well on a distance considering its design. Will you bake those to alpha planes for the lopoly?
Don't worry, she will still have freckles. I just found them a bit distracting with polypaint, I'll go nuts when I get to the texture.
@ AimBiz, the fur in the high poly is just there for the heck of it so I can get a good feel for it, it wont be baked down or anything (other than a mass of fur underneath alphas, but that will be pretty basic and wont have such harsh normals. I plan to do it all with painted alphas, the same goes for the hair, it's just there so I can read things better.
(the hair will be much curlier than it is with those temporary planes)
As for the face crits, thanks, I agree and will definitely make another pass on it.

I see what you mean, the hat may be a little weird, I may make it look a bit less modern but Im fairly happy with it, I'm actually trying to pull the character away from the whole Hunter/Survivalist theme now and make her slightly more elegant. I'm becoming less and less interested in the idea of a super badass hunter and more interested in the simple relationship between her and her pet dog/wolf, which i'll go into later.

reminds me so much of Ygritte indeed ^^
The details are amazing, the folds look really nice (Especially that one near the belt)
Can wait to see the final piece !
Can't wait
It changes her persona to feel more upperclass/hero instead of borderline scrappy underdog.
The big belt feels like it lacks weight at the moment would be my only gripe.

One curiosity...is it fur around the pads all over her body a detached geometri, or it's part of the pads geometry?

Blelfghdfjgdfg sleep.
Im keeping an eye on it.
Damnit, it is so beautiful. Man, I love it. Sry for just loving it and not saying anything useful, but... wow!
Everything else is awesome though ^^.

Looks nice though. Grown up version of the Brave character.

I dunno if you have seen the movie Hanna but whenever I see this character I am instantly reminded of how awesome that movie is.
