Hi, for this project I’m recreating the Shield of the Undevout from Baldur’s Gate 3, with a small modification to the back since I couldn’t find a clear reference for the grip and straps
Hey ya'll PC'ers. I've been making some sheilds you may have seen in the WAYWO thread. So for the sake of practice, I laid out 3 sheilds on a single texture sheet and got to work - here is the results: (original concept by the talented Artyom Vlaskin: http://cghub.com/images/view/90613/) texture sheet, original is 1024.…

Hey dude, I would reccomend having the snake faceing forward towards the camera. That will help buid the silhouette IMO from the side view. Is the material, cloth at the back of the shield?. Im not trying to be harsh, personally I.feel the design on the front dosnt really go well with the carved writing. I like the idea of…
Hi guys, while I am working on my main environment project, I thought to share my completed prop that I have done a few months ago, the Hylian Shield: The shield was mainly inspired by the design of the shield found in Twilight Princess, a design that I believed I can interpret into a photorealistic style. Full Render of…
Hello everyone! I should point out that we are not looking for actual game assets, all entries must be submitted in image form. The…
Well...If you could post quality pictures it would be a better help. From what I can see it looks ok in terms of modeling (I am not able to see much so I can not really tell). In terms of design there are a lot of things to be said. The first thing is that lion head: If you put a shield with that heavy looking thing then…
Hi, I modeled a shield. In some parts the shield is extruded inwards. How do I go about uv mapping the shield? Do I just uv map it like any other shield? Or do I have to uv the extruded parts as well? Thank you.
I don't agree at all. A 6mm shield would break easily from a strong sword wielder. leather, wood and metal reinforcing could easily make it an inch thick and heavy as well. The shields from these games show thickness (texture painting) even though in game they were little more than a couple of planes. World of Warcraft…
This isn't going to be just a material solution. Its a combination of material and the hit detection portion of the game. Using UDK as a base look in the "takeDamage" function of the actor class. Included in that is a vector for hit location. So for your player class using this material you're creating you can have a hook…
