For a real use case, nothing better than just doing it; so retopology, unwrap, bake and paint, drop it into your engine of choice. I think if you do that here with these props you'll quickly see how and what to improve. You don't need a perfect sculpt to do this, in fact I would recommend going ahead and try doing it now…
UPDATE: Alright, so I needed a break from my Temple project for a bit and decided to do something hand painted and kind of stylized since it's something I haven't really done. The scene is going to be very simple and an arid environment. It'll be based around mining for gold. Any ideas for props or story/background are…
code related questions like this are probably best for the unreal forums if you didnt ask there already if you had it working before, rather than guess at things its usually easiest to revert back to when it was working you can just make a feature branch from that point can duplicate the project so that you can step…
Hi I am using geometry paint in maya to paint alot of plant objects onto a bumpy surface, My problem is when i paint the plants onto the bumpy object, the density is too low. I need to paint more than one object per polygon so have checked the "grid" box (Grid seems the only way to paint more than one object per polygon)…
I'm Using Quixel on Windows 8.1 64Bit Desktop Hardwarespecs: i7-5820k 3.3ghz , 16GB Ram, Gtx Titan black There is no error messages or crashes or something. When i hit accept mask, it tryes to bake my painted data but nothing appears in the final mask (it stays white , or gets the dynamask texture). 1 Week ago everything…
It may feel like i'm cutting out and ignoring most of your post here, but i think this is really the important point, and the rest of your argument pivots on it. My question is: isnt that 'feeling' a commodity? Isnt the consumer given the choice between the product they feel good about and the product they don't feel good…
I have 3ds max 2016 (with sp2 i think). And i have imported a rcs point cloud. Im trying to build geometry on the point cloud and for that i need to snap to the point in the point cloud, but it doesnt work. It ignores the snap. I tried what i could but it doesnt snap to the point cloud points. Sometimes (1 out of 20 tries)…
I have a basic box that I made and I then mirrored it , so the uv are overlapping. I then started using the Viewport Canvas tool and for some reason when I go to paint on the model it doesn't paint where my cursor is, it paints way off from it... Does it now work well when it is painting on a object with overlapping uv?
Seems like viewing object space normal maps in marmoset already works ok, so it would be really nice to get the option to paint/edit them in the painting tools. Doesn't seem like there's anyway to do that currently unless I'm missing something. At least not in a way were you can get a live preview of their effect.
Hey fellow polycounters, Just a quick question. I am about to embark on my first ever hand painted textured model. I am new to hand painted textures and have wanted to try them for ages and would like to ask a question about how to attack the model itself. With stuff from WOW and nearly all hand painted models ive seen the…
