I was wondering if there is a good way to bake in the detail from a high res model to low poly one. I'm not refering to normal mapping. Let say you model a hi poly tank, with the intention of using it to generate the texture of a low poly model. You take the time to model the bevels so it catches the highlights and all…
model I've recently read and reread the book Ready Player One and decided that I would make a series of models based on the scenes that are in the book and or just models. This is the first of several models. I am also planning to maybe make a short game around all the models that I will produce. Hope you guys like it.…
Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum. I'm looking to do detailed car models. I'd like model the exterior, interior, suspension, and under hood components. What do you guys recommend for finding blueprints? I know you can find orthagraphic blueprints of the exterior, do you guys model the other components by eye? Thanks guys.
I started this as a personal project to use it for my portfolio as a Junior 3D Artist. I would say that I'm at the halfway point of the modeling. I've refined the shape to make it make sense in real life and with the right proportions. I also decided to separate the geometry into multiple meshes keeping in mind that the…
So I'm fairly new to 3D modeling and as I want to learn to model buildings in general I was wondering if I should be using the "Smooth Mesh Preview" in Maya at all or not? When it comes to modeling houses, bridges etc. is it ok to not bother about smooth mesh and model things "as they are"?
Am working on a customized HK-416 rifle. I have just finished the highpoly model of it and still working on its lowpoly. Most of the model is modeled traditionally with sub-d modeling inside 3ds max and then got everything polished in Zbrush. Your feedback regarding anything is always appreciated!.
I started an animation a few years ago and, now that we're all self-isolating, would like to use the time to finish it off. It's currently about 70% complete. I'm looking for a strong character modeller to build a single model for the film. The model needs to be a caricature rather than a photorealistic person.
Hi, I am a bit clueless as to what license i should be attributing to my 3d models: what license would i attribute to my models if i want to hold the rights (that allow me to use the model commercially) but also allow others who have paid for it to use it commercially too?
