Synopsis: The overall goal of the G-27 Operational Environment Training Support Center (OE TSC) facilitates and acts as the principal enabler for continuous learning across all TRADOC lines of effort through acquiring, analyzing, creating, organizing, applying and transferring data, information, and knowledge in the context of current and future operations. The OE TSC is responsible for delivering the OE to facilitate the training of deploying units on joint, national and interagency information, emerging asymmetric capabilities gleaned from world-wide operations; integrating processes, practices, concepts and materiel capabilities into Joint and Service DOTMLPF solutions; and coordinating with the training centers to provide realistic enemy and environmental signatures into models and simulations in support of realistic training. Position is located in Newport News, Virginia.
Major Duties: Basic Functions: The OE TSC Gaming and
Visualizations Branch (GVB) provides 3-D visualizations and dynamic
scenarios replicating the operational environments encountered by
Department of Defense personnel. These products are used throughout the
individual, collective, and institutional training bases. The GVB 3-D
Modeler would be responsible for creating 3-D models for use in
Department of Defense simulations and gaming applications. The
incumbent will work with all TBOC divisions/directorates to ensure the
accuracy of the models developed. The 3-D Modeler will also coordinate
with M&S organizations with the DoD such as the Modeling and
Simulation Coordination Office, PEO-STRI, PM-TRASYS, National Simulation
Center and industry leaders in gaming technologies. Primary duties and
responsibilities of the 3-D Modeler:
• Creating and maintaining the OE TSC’s 3D model databases.
• Creating textures for the 3D databases and models.
• Documenting work in progress and work completed.
• Researching on the internet and other sources for projects.
• Providing feedback of task progression.

Creating and maintaining visual artwork, presentations, logos,
websites, interactive media, videos, screenshots, and documents.
• Trainers must be prepared to travel up to 25% of the time.
Associates degree in Art or a related field.
2 years experience developing models for Unity or VBS3.
Knowledge of modeling requirements in an integrated gaming and constructive environment
Demonstrated abilities in 3D Modeling, texturing and/or animation.
A working knowledge of Maya or 3D Studio Max
Knowledgeable in Photoshop software used to edit photos or textures.
A team player who works well with others.
Ability to prioritize several tasks at once, able to solve problems on their own or as a team and have good math skills.
SECRET
clearance is required, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret
clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmentalized Information
(TS/SCI).
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Art
Create photo realistic textures using the Quixel Suite and Substance Painter/Designer
Ability to apply geometry and trigonometry to a 2D and 3D environment.
Active TS/SCI clearance
