so im having issues with maya 8 casting photons. i have mental ray as my renderer. I have enabled global ilumination and have my light to cast 10000 photons. i see the photons being casted since it shows me on the viewport with the photon map but i see it having no effect on my scene any thoughts?
So far I've got 11. I don't think that's bad considering I grew up with a different 8 bit system (really, those questions are too NES-centric, there's more to 8 Bit than that).

Ok so I made my entire scene, textures, models the works and now it needs to go to max 8. I was using 9. Any tips? I have tried a few ways but something always seems to get a little messed up. Any suggestions are wonderful. Thanks guys.
