Bellsey, I've got a new Maya 2015 bug for you. Smoothing certain meshes in Maya 2015 takes about 60 seconds, compared to nearly instant in Maya 2014. I exported an .obj that I use to repro in both packages and tested with default prefs. Where's the best place to submit this? -

Thank you so much dude! totally worked. The reason I switched to 3DS Max 2013 is because of 2012 was really buggy for me.. many hotkeys did not work. Actually 2013 is allot more stable for what I am doing (modeling mostly). -
Maya 2016: Mesh is black in certain viewports and unclickable
Picture below: That would be my top view, perspective, front view, side view. I'm on Maya 2016 SP6. Two sided lighting is turned off on all viewports.
