Hi polycount peeps! I'm just learning the do's and dont's of hard surface modeling (and 3dsmax as well) and this is mah second attempt. It was based from a concept by Nick Carver. I tried to follow the concept 90-95% of the time I guess and just added/changed a few. Planning to turn it into game-rez really soon. Sorry if I…
Hey guys, for those who haven't seen my other thread on this project, here is the link. It was what I thought 95% done, until critics came into consideration. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=138719 I hope to get into the industry in Montreal, as an environment artist. Quick look to my portfolio.…
Hello everybody. I 'll be posting my artstation account so that people can take a look and give some constructive criticism on things that I should work on and improve. In advance I 'll mention that i know that texturing is an issue especially in my first project (detective office) which had to do with some issues I had…
i know it to be faster 95% of the time(for me) when you have to match a photographic diffuse. I hate to have to repeat this but do not assume you allways handpaint from scratch. Can you honestly say that sculpting a brick wall to match a photo ( like this one…
the vast majority of the people I went to school with were terrible at drawing. Even in illustration with two portfolio reviews people slip through the cracks and managed to graduate while still being terrible at drawing. In no way does going to college or graduating from college mean you were at any time good at drawing.…
Er, I still stand by my point that it means nothing of your abilities. So not really zing at all. Being able to get a visa only with a degree, is still tied to the outdated notion that a degree means everything. Take my similar example. I'd make a much better teacher than 95% of the current teachers in the game art schools…
adam: hes using unreal 3. im 95% sure it currently doesnt have bounce light and radiosity calculations or anything like that. perhaps in the next release. right now you have to pretty much fake it with a bunch of smaller radius lights. ' but then again, you probably already know that. haha sry ;) theres a trick you can do…
Finished this beauty yesterday evening after 95 hours. Best game I have played in a long, long time and easily my Game of the Year. This game really requires you to think logically, explore and use all the tools at your disposal as there really is zero handholding, I loved it. The game really shines in co-op as well. I'm…
I'd say 95% of the texture painting is in bodypaint. I only do very sharp 1 pixel vertical or horizontal stuff in Photoshop, since Bpaint doesn't have a constrain to horizontal/vertical with shift like photoshop does, and I do most of my flipping or transforming in photoshop. Also the initial mask and layer setup in…
Lol. You eastsiders need to come over here and visit the neighborhoods sometime. 95%+ of the good cultural stuff in Seattle is in the neighborhoods, not in downtown. Just pick a neighborhood to suit your mood. Feeling hip and well-paid? Go to Belltown. Feeling laid back? West Seattle pubs and beaches might suit you.…
