Anyone know some good light baking/vertex lighting/ambient occlusion tutorials? I've seen it mentioned around before. But I'm not really sure how to do it or really what it is. After you bake the light into the model, do you not have to light your scene? How does it work, I say, how?
I imported a PLY model with vertex color embedded into 3DS Max. I then UV unwrapped it and need to transfer the vertex colors to a diffuse material. How do I directly transfer this color information to a bitmap without altering the color based on the ambient light of the scene? I read somewhere that it could be done…
This might be a long shot but, has anyone come accross a good video tutorial showing a way to assign materials to verts for vertex blending in Softimage XSI?
Hi, I've been looking around but with no luck so I now turn to Polycount for help :) Q1. Do you guys know where I can get a good (ideally free) DirectX shader for 3Dsmax 2012 that allows me to see vertex color blending textures in the viewport? (a simple black to white vertex colors) Q2. I'm doing a lot of Max to Maya FBX…
Hello everyone, I've been running into an extremely frustrating issue with maya as of last week where if I try to snap a mesh to another mesh, instead of snapping to the vertex I choose (snap to vertex mode on, tried it with hotkey and from the toolbar) I get snapped to random points in world space where there is…
Quite simply, I'm struggling to find any documentation on vertex painting on meshes in CE3 (which I have heard is available). Like many people here I'm new to CE3 so I'd appreciate any information you can offer. Thanks guys.
I'm in need of a script that copies the vertex order from one mesh and transfers them to another mesh. Same tri count and topology. I have tried Morphix for 3dsMax but that doesn't work. :( Any help is really appreciated.
In my shader, I'm trying to use vertex offset when I mesh paint but I can't seem to get my vertices to recede; only protrude. Could be worth noting that I'm using UDK July 2012
