So I'm helping a friend work on a project and she is trying to get a texturing style on her character that is similar to world of war craft. Any ideas guys on how to get something like this done, or the techniques that Blizzard used.
I know the artists that graduated from school have the opportunities to get internship at game companies. How about a self-taught artist like me gets any opportunities doing the same thing? I don't mind being paid $10 a hour. At lease that money can cover the fuel and even the rent (I live cheaply). If there is no pay I am…
Hey there guys, since I started doing character, making male character was always much more of a trouble for me then doing female, that's why I decided to start praticing them *logic i know * So here ya go, its still very WIP at the moment but i am really looking forward to get some comment and critics from you guys so I…
Just graduated college, need money to move into an apartment with a roommate, but also could use a bit more time getting my portifolio ready for a game biz job methinks...how many of you had a retail or some such job before getting into the game industry (or aren't in the industry yet, and working somewhere?) In comparison to a profession like Nursing where no matter how much self-study you do or how many personal connections you have, you legally cannot be a nurse unless you graduate from a nursing program and pass the NCLEX- fortunately…
Hello there everyone! And well after I implement this expression I'm getting an evaluation…
what sucks is why innovate if you have no competition? I guess we can expect even more of the same for the next 5 years. And at such a critical point in time too. Just as companies are getting their next gen engines ready. After 5 years, if the license is no longer exclusive, other companies will be left way behind.
I did n't really get much this year, being old and what have you, but treated myself to a scale model of the titanic. Have to glue and assemble it. Should keep me busy till next year:) what did you get?
Recently I have gotten back into doing some art work, but eventually ran into the issue that I was making my low poly meshes that were too low compared to what is now an industry standard. So my question to you guys and gals, are there any write ups out there that can get me back up to speed on what is standard in the…
