I did n't really get much this year, being old and what have you, but treated myself to a scale model of the titanic. Have to glue and assemble it. Should keep me busy till next year:)
what did you get?
No electricity (got it fixed yesterday), broken lights (flat upstairs got flooded, should be fixed next week) a broken boiler (should be fixed on Tuesday, atm there's 9°C in the rest of the flat).
So I'm sitting here in my small room with no lights, no central heating (except for a small electric heater) and no hot water. I bought myself Super Meat Boy on Steam, thinking that I got the deal of my life and hoping that a cute retro game would let me relax and forget about all that crazy shit.
a nice xmas dinner with my girlfriend
a new apartment (just renting though), but it's a reeeeeally kickass place. moving in in a week
a macbook air 11" (gift to myself)
I kinda hate christmas so this year I treated myself to a week long all inclusive vacation in Cuba, plane takes off at 11:50 pm tonight hopefully we don't hit no santa clause. 7 days of fun in the sun and crazy drinking with one of my best buds. booyakasha! ill post pics when I return. have a good xmas everyone!
I got a dream job, a fresh start, a wonderful boss/friend and the love and support of friends new and old. Also I got this sweet ass vintage mechanical tin rocket toy.
I couldn't ask for more, and consider myself as very fortunate.
I got a few nice things, more than I was expecting. Loads of vodka that will keep me going at least two nights, for one. Other cool stuff like the Zombie Survival Guide, which I've been waiting for read for ages, and The Pacific on BluRay plus loads of other stuff... I still have my Dads side of stuff yet as I haven't been around to his yet, should be interesting (Hes got my Alien box set on BluRay for one).
But my top three based on total old schoolness and awesomeness have to be:
Christmas day is my birthday too, I don't get double presents though, heh!
I got Fallout new vegas and a couple dvd's and the usual socks/clothes. Looking forward to playing the shit out of fallout (was holding off getting it before)
I'm really hoping I get a job I interviewed for a while back though, would be the best.
So far my girlfriend bought me 4 shirts from some of my favorite bands (Alice Cooper, Metallica, Iron Maiden and Guns N Roses) and a Blurr Transformers figure I had been looking for.
A nice hardcover copy of Ashley Wood's World War Robot, a 6 Gal. Air Compressor, some movies, and bulk packs of assorted lego technic parts. Fun stuff this year.
