Hi there so i'm having this strange issue with baking. I don't know why but when i am baking my model from low to high, in painter it has it where this one part is red and i can't figure out why. I checked all the surfaces and everything here i'm including the blender file to help out.
The general advice for SSS for skin is a light pink color for Caucasian skin, or as Saurabh Jethani does in his Marmoset breakdown, fully saturates the albedo texture and uses that. It seems like SSS shader in marmoset absorbs whatever color of light you have set. So if I set red, the surface becomes more green/blue, and…
I mean polygon modeling workflow established roughly at the end of 90s. And since then for about 10 years we have been using same set of tools. Nothing changes. Look at how sculpting evolves. With every release zbrush and 3d-coat get not just new tools but new ways of creating models. Sculpting apps started with simple…
I recently worked on a fairly complex low poly hard surface model and it was really difficult finishing it in a timely manner. Does anyone have any tips & techniques for "old school" low poly hard surface stuff, like robots & guns? I'm looking into some xnormal map types (thanks Jason Young) to try and speed up the…
3D Studio Max is driving my nuts (as usual), I recently upgraded(?) from 2011 to 2013 and I'm having trouble. I put together a test scene to demonstrate. First Issue: Apparently 3DS max no long respects projection modifiers? The cage seems to have no affect anymore - as shown by the outer surface of "high poly" model being…
Hey guys. I'm not a beginner but I'm going to ask a seriously noob question. I've always had this issue when making high poly models because my topology probably isn't up to scratch. I've attached some images. Basically, on rounded or non-flat surfaces I always get pinched edges where I have to add some extra edge loops to…
Hello i am new at Zbrush and MudBox, at the moment i am studding Maya from getting started book an it´s going well so far,but i am interest to learn modeling in Zbrush and MudBox but i am totally lost, there are many tutorials out there but there are to much for me to understand or they are some speed modeling.I need really…
Howdy! Here's a WIP of my latest personal project, Urbosa from Breath of the Wild. Her design is so ridiculous and great at the same time, and I felt like sculpting her would be a great framework for practicing techniques I sorely need to level up in. I'll probably do a little redesigning to be more practical and fit the…
kanga - yeah, similarly for a bevel 'shader' workflow at material level if baked with hard edges as opposed too firstly projecting for example, your hard surface primary (quad topology) baked data onto the same correctly prepared proxy. An early bevel node baking series at 2048px * 2 texture resolution of a medium poly…
Hi! My main critique with the mesh is that some curved elements are low resolution (main tank, wheels) compared to others (chimney, pistons), resulting in a visibly facetted silhouette. I think the overall shading looks a tad too soft in places and shows some gradients. If you plan to rely on mesh-shading opposed to a…
