Yes, you could certainly add them as floaters, or what I do now instead of floaters is just paint them directly into the normal map in Substance Painter. Or you could model some of the basic detail into the low poly if you can spare the extra verts, and bake the edges of the cutouts/dial. Or you could boolean model it and…
Will Marmoset adress the problem Artists have with showcasing their artworks and people ripping your models straight out the viewer? https://www.artstation.com/artwork/xGkLm like happened to Blair? I want to hear your thought about that, This issue has to be communicated with the Artists/Community. Some people showcase…
I'm new to the forums, so hi everyone! I've been trying to model a 3D head, basing the eye and mouth loops off some other low poly models I've seen. I'm having a bit of trouble getting the nose and cheeks right, as well as the height of the head. I'm using Blender, if that makes any difference. Any assistance would be much…
if ur not gona scuplt this i suggest u to use planes to model this instead of cutting a cylinder. if i were to do it i would model out the details first and then try to connect the geometry together. OR you could use model out the details as floaters and use a deformer to match the shape of the door knob. hope this helps
I've already posted a lot about this in my sketchbook thread but I think it deserves its own especially since now its official that I'm going to release it in q3 of this year. For newcomers, this is a project I'm working on in my free time for around a year with bigger and smaller pauses here and there. I started…
Hey, is there any website or place to find/download character reference images? (3 sides with arms open)? to practice 3d modelling? I can draw myself... but right now I want to practice 3d modelling with as many characters as possible. Thanks.
I think your modeling is pretty excellent and the texture looks good too -- lighting is not helping though. Are you only using the fill light? Also, my only suggestion for the model is that the tank tread doesn't look beefy enough to carry the actual tank -- like its going to bottom out on the frame in the dirt and rocks…
Trying to model out a logo with letters in it but I'm having trouble understanding the best topology for the corners and turns on them. I'm trying to keep the corners sharp by beveling them and also beveling the edge where the light blue and dark blue connects. Having trouble understanding how to model this well so that…
Hi all, Decided to start modelling again and wanted to model and rig a handgun so I could get experience with it. Problem is, I have absolutely no idea how to get started and am 100% sure I am doing this horribly wrong. Below is what I've got so far: I'm really lost on how to do this, and this just looks... Well,…
Hello I recently been making a couple of creatures models for crysis but altough my model looks perfectly smooth in 3dsmax , in Crysis it gets really bad face subdivision , this is espeicallly on the actual seams of the uvmapping , I got mirrored uvmapping for the fishes , but I don't now why it comes out this sort of bad…
