the topology on your head looks a little wrong as far as edge flow around the jaw, and I think if you have a few too many loops around the eyes and lips, but not enough geometry on the tip of your nose (the silhouette of the nose is going to be very blocky). what is your goal as far as polygon count?
I love the Quad chamfer modifier. Either with smoothing group or edge creasing, depending on the complexity and speed you're after. Works well for most objects and if you need to you can always collapse it after you get your base support loops set up and do some manual tweaks.

Hey starcow! Its looking good! Your loops seem pretty efficient! I would check out that vert under the lips though, it looks like it has some normal issues. Maybe you've got more then one in there. But other then that, I would say you got a pretty good topology!
by marika's tits you should study more anatomy lol I would recommend modeling a female human base mesh first, then use that to create your cyborg. Work on the fundamentals first; shape and structure, then add details later. Topology is the least of your problems right now. You have some intersecting geo with the middle…

base diff is looking nice dude... made real progress with this. Maybe increase the edge loops in the wires.. so they hang more naturally. Bake looks decent to me... but maybe i am not seeing what you are. Maybe give the whole diff texture a little more contrast? either way this is looking awesome.
