Looking for a job (again)

So, I'd gone through the last stages of a job-interview, been offered a contract, only to have that offer be retracted due to problems within the company.
So now I was hoping some of you guys knew of anything.
I wasn't considering America at first (I had the girlfriend to consider), but now I'm looking everywhere, really.

To work with polycounters would be a bonus, obviously!

My portfolio's up on flickr, but if anyone wants a .rar/.zip with everything in it, just let me know. It's actually my preferred way of sending my stuff around.

Freelance-gigs are welcome too!

Harsh - On a slightly unrelated note (not wanting to derail) but how does shifting countrys work? I'm really naive to that - what sort of support and things would you get and what amount of time would it take from say, agreed to hire > actually working?

really depends where youre heading to i guess.

inside the eu its quite easy i suppose -hadnt had any real problems moving from switzerland to germany ;)

    @mightypea sorry to hear :/

Thanks guys. Yeah, it was all a bit of a kick in the nads.

I've gotten a pm from this already, so that's nice, but if anyone else knows of positions in their company or elsewhere, please let me know. No matter where it is.

jack: anywhere in the eu seems easy enough. I was told in an interview that Canada's loosened up a bit as well, making it (in their words) relatively easy and straightforward to get a visa there.
America's notoriously hard to get into (unless you're from Canada, I'm told), but I haven't gone through it myself. Someone on here might be able to give you specifics, I'm sure.
In terms of the time it takes, that depends on how long the visa-process takes, and when the company want you, really. You'll get some compensation for moving in a lot of cases, too. That probably depends on the size of the company and how unique your skillset is though, I imagine.

Nah, still tough to get into the states if you're from Canada. I suppose I can't speak from personal experience, but I know several people that have been effectively hired in down in the States but couldn't get through.

And I wish I could help with the job situation man, but Vancouver's been getting kicked in the nuts with layoffs and shit lately, so the jobs around here are pretty sparse.

    Good luck with it!

The deal with Canadians getting into America is that there is a 1 year temp visa that can be renewed.

Johnny: I'll give that another go.
Is that where you are now?
