Hey guys, I met a maya UV checker problem which drive me crazy...as long as I open my UV checker, my mesh goes transparent...anyone know why this is happening? Right now even if I open a new scene, it is still like this. I suspect I touched something where that I didn't know.

The character move well but i have part of my character like the bracelets that are hard surface and i don't want to blend them. how i can control the metallic parts to don't blend them? thanks

Does anyone have any tips for how to go about straightening organic UVs so they're easier to paint on in a 2D program? I've attached an example of hands and arms that have had the fingers straightened out. I can't seem to reproduce this myself in Maya. My character's hands fingers want to stretch away from eachother.
I'm using 4096 textures on an object. I've only had a normal map on there until this morning when my AO finished baking. I can put the AO in the diffuse, but once I check "high quality rendering" to see my normals, my whole computer grinds to a halt. Any ideas?? Maya 2009 64 bit.
So for whatever reason I can't set the upper button on the wacom pen to middle mouse so that I can zoom in/out in the maya view port. Also, whenever I click on the screen there is a slight millisecond delay when panning, rotating, etc. I'm running Windows 7 and the newest wacom drivers. Any ideas?
Hey! So I'm following a 3dMotive tutorial for foliage in Unreal, however I am using Maya rather than 3DS Max - which the tutorial makes use of. Essentially, I want to find a way to set up a shader network for some specular highlights on blades of grass. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.
