I think you should chamfer the edges on your bridge, they look razor sharp right now... Also I think your textures are over saturated, so unless you are going for something cartoony, I would say tone them down a bit. Also think about adding some variation to your terrain, maybe add a dirt path so its not all the same…
Haha yeah we got the "Lost" reference alot. My friends say I modeled the body after a caricature of John Locke, but I swear that's coincidence. I didn't even know who John Locke was until someone made me look him up, haha. We also get the Monkey Island reference too, which is good because we want the same light hearted…
i think if you broke up the horizontal black lines of the walls with a dark shade of brown (so its not black), and drop some pixel highlights in there it could come off less cartoony. The contrast in the panels is nice, but i think a little subtlety in its exaggeration will go a long way. a little color variation and dirt…
I'm not feeling the eye, as it looks very cartoony compared to the rest of the creature. Something reflective and watery with a "wild animal" vibe would really improve how intimidating it looks, maybe something feline? A more pronounced eyelid structure would probably help too. The spikes on the back could use a bit more…
As far as the cliff sculpt goes, the rock forms are looking a bit too soft and rounded. The sculpt itself feels more cartoony right now, while the diffuse and alpha treatments suggest you want to go for a more realistic feel. You may also want to revisit the crevices between the rocks, some of them have weird pinching…
Definitely let people know about the mouseover. Or, if you did, please make it more apparent. I looked at it as if I were looking through a few hundred portfolios for a potential position and just clicked though. I didnt see any text that screamed at me to read it, so I did not. I disagree with chris. The work in there is…
Experienced Character Animation Team for hire. I'm aiming to keep our animation team fairly small and tight and use my many years experience as lead animator in game studios to lead my team to deliver high quality animation for games (or other projects types) at a reasonable price (any time-zone is fine but we're in the…
I want to start this post by saying why this would be so rewarding and fun for any fantastic character artists reading this post: I have already created a host of fish: cute coral fish, orca whales, piranha's... Their base meshes are solid, the Uv's are good to go, and I use a decal system embedded in the fish shader to…
I was GOING to start modeling an original character in Maya, but then I remembered this character existed and I wanted to try translating her design into 3D. This time around I'll be modeling the clothes separately from the body, unlike in my Garnet model. Character: Suu From: Clover by CLAMP (OVA adaptation of manga)…
Rig by Steven Kalinowski model by CGNetworks. From 3DFiggins. Latest WIP: https://youtu.be/k9X9RW4Na_A SyncSketch link: https://syncsketch.com/sketch/132036#154163 I was trying to go for a stylized but not too cartoony look, but I'm not sure if I am hitting it. Definitely feeling rusty animation-wise, so I would love some…
