Hi there, i have a really annoying Problem with Maya 2016. I cant select multiple objects at once anymore. I already deleted the Prefs, but nothing changes. Single selection works and also shift-clicking for multiple objects. But i cant hold down left mouse button for multiple selection of objects anymore. So the…
Is there a script that renders the front/back/left/right/top/down viewport of selected objects. So I would select a number of objects, run the script (and the script switches the viewports, frames the selected objects in the viewport and renders using the current settings?)
The title may sound confusing so here is an image. I select some components, Maya changes pivot to the midpoint of these components and now I want to snap some other object there. I found a solution, but it's annoying to work with: 1. Duplicate the object. 2. Select components. 3. Merge to center.4. Create -> Locator.5.…
Greetings! I got a question regarding to 3Ds max (2015 in my case) coordinate rounding topic which seems pretty fundamental, yet I somehow missed it before:Working with quite a small sized objects (> 0,01m) I find out that simple act of clicking at coordinate position fields (X/Y/Z) leading to object in viewport making a…
hi, this should be an obvious one but i can't figure it out: i've got two separate low-poly objects in the scene, both have UV coordinates in the 0-1 range and are using different texture sets each. i want to import and display a diffuse and normal map for each object and paint them, preferably ACROSS them. how do i do…
mmh well sorry, it's not about the rotation focus. In perspective, the zoom is relative to the size of the object when you press z so the the move is coherent, hence if you focus on a big object and then try to zoom on a little object right after, it will be "slow" because the zooming ratio is still adapted to the big…
Im doing my best to learn maya at work and Ive hit some walls. I really didnt want to do this but I would like to use this thread to ask my questions rather than litter polycount with random issues. First thing to note is that I have been reading a lot of the other threads on here asking for maya help etc so Im not being…
This depends on what the asset actually is. For objects like this, tiling textures work best most often then not. Create the texture you want to be on the object, then unwrap the object onto the tiling texture.
Can anyone verify if it also does AO self shadowing for object? Or is it only on an object-to-object basis. If I never have to bake another AO map, it will be a glorious day.
start with simple shapes and objects you have around you. it's the best reference if you actually have the object! then work your way from there to a scene or more complicated objects.
